Entering Components Overview
If Plot Plan or Operational Units are not available, use single area for entering Components
If entering from Equipment List, consider using Spreadsheet View
Enter all components in sequence
Enter “?” for missing data
Recommend “?” entries be put in the Remarks Field
Three methods for entering Components
– Components Tab
– Area Selection
– Spreadsheet View

Components Tab (Method 1)
Select the Components Tab in Palette
Expand Components by selecting “+” on selections
Click on Selected Component and Drag to List View
Enter Item Description and Tag Number (recommended) and select Area from Scroll List
Select OK to bring up Component Form

Select the Components Tab

and drag to List View

Enter Item Description, User Tag Number and Select Area
•Item Description must be unique
•User Tag Number is optional but
strongly recommended as entry
•Select Area Name for placement
•Select “OK” to get input form

Area Selection (Method 2)
Select Area for Component Entry
Right-click mouse and select “Add Project Component”
Enter Project Component Name
Double click mouse on each entry until Component Form appears
Tag Number must be entered on Component Form

Select Area and Add Project Component
1.Right mouse click on Area
2.Select Item

Enter Item Description

Select Component to Add (Method 2)

Enter Component Data (Methods 1 & 2)
Black text is User Entered Data
Blue text is System default
Select Evaluate when Data Entry
is complete to review Item
Red Border is Required Entry

Component Adjustments
Adjustment to Equipment or Volumetric Model can be made using Options Menu

Adding Components via Spreadsheet View (Method 3)
Select Spreadsheet View from View Menu
Select View (e.g. Pumps | Centrifugal | Process)
Select Add
Select Project Component Name
Select Component Type to Add and select “OK”
Repeat from “Add” Step until all like components on Equipment List have an entry
Use Copy/Paste function of Excel to Copy Data From Equipment List to Spreadsheet View (Note: Can only copy one column at a time)
Save all entered data

Highlight row or rows of data and select Copy

Spreadsheet View Example
• Highlight the cells in which to paste the copied data, right-click on cells and select „Paste Selection‟.• Select „Apply‟ to save selections• Select „Ok‟ to exit Spreadsheet
Note: Copy and Paste does not work on cells with dropdown scroll lists.
