Aspects (Drishti Siddhaant)[Phala Deepika by Mantreshwar, Ch. 15, Sl. 30]The Five Planetary Connections30. The following are the five recognized connections or relations between two

    planets:

    (1) When they occupy mutually each other's sign.

    (2) When they are conjoined.

    (3) When there is mutual aspect between them.

    (4) When they are in Kendra position with respect to each other.

    (5) When they are in Trikon position with reference to each other. This applies to Ansh of Raashi as well - planets in Kendra from the analyzed planet

provide a stable fundament, planets in Trikon support the analyzed planets (withhis natural and functional themes, lordship taken from main chart).

Aspects-IntroductionGraha Drishti means how a Graha (planet) takes or accepts another Graha. If a

Graha looks at another Graha with a full look (Drishti or aspect) it means that

the aspected Graha is fully affected by the aspecting Graha. It is the 3rd, 7th and 10th house from the one that the planet is positioned in?Graha DrishtiAll planets aspect their 7th house (Opposite House) from the House they are

sitting in. For example, if Sun is in Taurus, he will aspects Scorpion; if Mars is inGemini, he will aspect Sagittarius, if Moon is in Leo, he will aspect Aquarius.

Jupiter in Pisces will aspect Virgo. Saturn in Capricorn aspects Cancer. So find

the 7th house from the planet and the planet aspects that house. In addition, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn have special aspects:Jupiter aspects the 5th and 9th houses from him, in addition to the 7th House.

Mars aspects the 4th and 8th houses from him, in addition to the 7th House.

Saturn aspects the 3rd and 10th houses from him, in addition to the 7th House. We can decide the signs and houses aspected by a planet as above.

If any planet occupies the aspected houses, then the planet in it is also aspected.

For example, if Jupiter is in Taurus, he will aspect Capricorn, because Capricorn

is the 9th house from Taurus and Jupiter aspects the 9th House from him. Then

if Saturn is in Capricorn, Jupiter will aspect Saturn also.

    Basics are as following :(a) 7H = 100%

    (b) 4H and 8H = 75% except for Mars for which these are full aspects.

    (c) 5H and 9H = 50% (Trikon) except for Jupiter for which these are full

    aspects.

    (d) 3H and 10H = 25% except for Saturn for which these are full aspects.

    (e) 3H and 10H = 25% for all other planets i.e. Ju +Raashi DrishtiRaashi (Signs) also aspect other Raashi and their aspects are based on the

following rules:Movable Raashi aspecting other Raashis - and receiving aspects from them -

namely the Fixed Raashi, except the one close-by.A movable Raashi aspects all fixed Raashi except the one adjacent to it.

A fixed Raashi aspects all movable Raashi except the one adjacent to it.

A dual Raashi aspects all other dual Raashi.

For example,--Aries is a movable sign. It aspects all the fixed signs except the one adjacent

to it, i.e. Taurus. So Aries aspects Leo, Scorpion and Aquarius.

--Taurus is a fixed sign. It aspects all the movable signs except the one adjacent

to it, i.e. Aries. So Taurus aspects Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.

--Gemini is a dual sign. It aspects all other dual signs. So Gemini aspects Virgo,

    Sagittarius and Pisces.

    Graha Drishti vs Raashi Drishti

A simple analogy will make things clearer. Look at planets as people. Let us take apriest as an example. Will he have some influence on his neighbors? Probably.

Because he lives there, gets up early in the morning and recites Mantra, it may

influence his neighbors also. Because of the houses they live in, his neighbors

come under his influence. How pious and god-fearing his influence makes his

neighbors depends on other factors. If one of the neighbors is a dreaded

  • 8/14/2019 Aspects in Planets

    3/7

criminal, he is not going to be influenced.

Let us take a dreaded criminal as another example. He may also have an influence

on his neighbors. Youngsters living in the neighboring houses may enter the

criminal world because of him. Ladies in the neighboring houses may stay insidetheir houses at night and not come out after certain time.

Thus we are influenced by people in neighboring houses. Influence exerted by

planets by Raashi Drishti is similar to this influence.

Compared to this limited influence on the neighbors, a priest may have greater

influence in the matters of the nearby temple where he works. He may have a lotof influence on devotees who come to visit the temple and who approach him for

performing Poojaas, Homs etc. Influence exerted by Graha Drishti is similar to

    this influence.

Influence exerted by Raashi Drishti is due to the sign a planet is in and this

influence is due to the inherent nature of a planet. This is analogous to the

influence people exert on their neighbors. All planets in a sign will have Raashi

Drishti on the same signs, just as people living in the same house see the same

neighbors everyday and exert some influence over the same neighbors. But the

influence they exert may differ. A priest may tell his neighbors to pray to God.

His movie-loving brother living in the same house may talk the same neighbors

into watching all the movies of a particular actress. Similarly, planets in the samesign may influence planets in different houses. Thus, planets in the same sign

exert influence on the same houses and planets through Raashi Drishti, but the

nature of the influence varies from planet to planet.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All 7th house aspects (oppositions) are full aspects.

75% aspects are those to the 4th and 8th Raashi counted from a Graha, except

for Mars for which these are full aspects.

50% aspects are those to the 5th and 9th Raashi (Trikon) counted from a Graha,

except for Jupiter for which these are full aspects.25% aspects are those to the 3rd and 10th Raashi counted from a Graha, except

for Saturn for which these are full aspects.

Never heard of 75%, 50% or 25% Raashi Drishti? They are not mentioned in

most important classics, therefore we can take all Raashi Drishti as full aspects.

4th from it respectively! If one has Paap Argalaa on 3rd from 4th, it may show

trouble to the journey because of the vehicle. If one has Paap Argalaa on 3rd from

6th, it may show trouble to the journey because of the driver.

Let us take another example. Domestic harmony, comfort, well-being and happinessare seen from the 4th house. What are the things that can make or break

domestic harmony? Of course, wife, children and other family members! Each of

them can intervene in one's domestic harmony. No wonder the 5th, 7th and 2nd

houses have an Argalaa on the 4th house (being the 2nd, 4th and 11th respectively

from the 4th house)! If a malefic in 5th has Paap Argalaa on 4th, it may show

domestic clashes and lack of Sukha (comfort or happiness) on account of a child. If

a benefic in 7th has Shubh Argalaa on on 4th, it may show domestic happiness due

to a caring partner.Apart from the 2nd, 4th and 11th houses from a house, the 5th house from a househas a secondary Argalaa on it. In the case of learning, Argalaa of 8th house on 4th

(8th is the 5th from 4th) shows the influence of hard work in learning. Hard work

is another decider. In the case of journey, Argalaa of 7th house on 3rd house (7th

is the 5th from 3rd) shows the influence of partners in a journey.Virodh Argalaa Means ObstructionVirodh Argalaaa shows the obstruction of Argalaaa. Planets and houses in the 12th,

10th, 3rd and 9th Houses from a house or planet cause Virodh Argalaaa and

obstruct the Argalaaa on it from the 2nd, 4th, 11th and 5th houses from it(respectively). For example, let us say Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn are in

Gemini, Pisces, Aries and Virgo respectively. Saturn is in the 4th from Mercury and

Gemini and he causes Argalaaa on them. With Saturn being a malefic, this is a Paap

Argalaaa (malefic intervention). But Jupiter is in the 10th from Mercury and

Gemini. So he obstructs Saturn's Argalaaa and averts the troubles. Venus is in the

11th from Mercury and Gemini and so he causes Argalaaa on them. With Venus

being a benefic, it is a Shubh Argalaaa (benefic intervention). If Leo (3rd from

Gemini) is empty, this Argalaaa is unobstructed.NOTE: If a sign contains Ketu, Argalaa and Virodh Argalaa on it are counted anti-

zodiacally. For example, let us say Ketu is in Virgo. Then Leo, Gemini, Scorpio andTaurus are the 2nd, 4th, 11th and 5th from Vi (counted anti-zodiacally) andplanets in those signs cause Argalaa on Virgo and on the planets in Virgo. Virodh

    Argalaa is also counted similarly.

Use of ArgalaaaDepending on the matter of interest, take the relevant house or the relevant

Kaarak. Find all Argalaaa and Virodh Argalaaa on it. If there are both, see if more

planets cause Argalaaa or Virodh Argalaa. If they are caused by the same number

of planets, compare the strengths and decide whether Argalaaa dominates orVirodh Argalaaa. Based on the signs, houses and planets involved, guess the meaning

of the Argalaaa or Virodh Argalaaa.Argalaaa from the 2nd House shows the basic ingredient for the sustenance of a

matter. For example, the 2nd house shows food and it is a basic ingredient for the

sustenance of self (1st). The 5th House shows intelligence and it is a basic

ingredient for the sustenance of learning (4th).Argalaaa from the 4th House shows the basic factor that drives the mood, state

and progress of a matter. For example, the 4th house shows comfort and it drives

the mood and state of self (1st). The 7th House shows interaction and that drives

one's learning (4th).Argalaaa from the 11th House shows the catalyst that can result in gains for a

matter. For example, the 2nd House shows character, grooming and Sanskaar and

it is a catalyst in the process of learning (4th).Secondary Argalaaa from the 5th House shows the additional contributing factors.

For example, the 5th house shows emotional situation and that contributes to thestate of self (1st). The 8th House shows hard work and that contributes to one's

learning (4th).Using the above guidelines, we can understand the meaning of Argalaaa on Houses

    and Kaarak.

------------------------------------------------------------------I am trying to find the easiest way to use Jhora to understand a few things by simply

clicking on the menu's. When I go to "Basics", place my cursor on lets say 2nd house

(occupied by Mars) and then right click the mouse and go to "Highlight Raashi(s)" and thenanother menu pops us as following :1. Having Argalaaa on this Raashi2. Having Virodh Argalaaa on this Raashi

    3. Aspected by this planet (Graha Drishti)4. Aspected by this planet (Raashi Drishti)

    5. Aspected by this Raashi (Raashi Drishti)6. Owned by this planet

    7. Mool Trikon of this planet

    8. Where this planet is exalted9. Where this planet is debilitatedSo my question is---

    A. Does "Having Argalaaa on this Raashi" mean planets having good Drishti on this

Raashi?no, Argalaaa and Drishti are two completely different things. *Argalaa* means decisive

placements in 2nd, 4th, 5th and 11th house, *Dristhi* means influence by signs (RashiDristhti) or by planets (Graha Dristhi)B. Does "Having Virodh Argalaa on this Raashi" mean planets having bad Drishtion this Raashi?

the same - Virodh Argalaa is Vipareet Argalaa, placements in 12th, 10th, 9th and 3rdHouses, limiting or nullifying good Argalaaa placementsC. What does "Aspected by this planet (Graha Drishti)" show / mean in Jhora ?What it says - it shows full aspects of other planets to this particular planetD. What does "Aspected by this planet (Raasi Drishti)" show / mean in Jhora ?Aspects of other signs (with planets in it) to this particular sign (with planets in it)E. What does "Aspected by this Raashi (Raashi drishti)" show / mean in Jhora ? Aspects of other signs (with planets in it) to this particular sign (with planets in it). D and E

are nearly the same, D emphasizes Raashi Dristhi 'by planets', E 'by signs'.
