We already sent out the Cvent invitation to participate in the

Product Show. The booths are filling up fast! So, look at the

map and reserve your booth if you have a preferred location on

the floor. Don’t forget to pass the word to the engineers in our

community that the time spent on Product Show floor counts

    as educational credits.

Our next monthly meeting will be on January 24, 2017 at the

Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter At Ravinia located 4355

Ashford Dunwoody Rd. Atlanta, GA 30346. I know

sometimes it is hard to balance the time between family and

work. Finding time to attend our monthly meeting is not easy.

ASPE is meant to provide strength in your career and develop

a friendly network of professionals in our industry. If you’re a

professional and the current company doesn’t reimburse you

for attending the monthly meeting please use the sponsorship

option when you’re register in CVENT.

If you want to buy dinner for the rest of the year, you can do it

when you register at the next meeting. Per many of our

members request, to help with finances and expenses we will

    provide this option to you.

The Board is continuing the program to help young

professionals to join ASPE. If you’re a young professional

plumbing engineer and you want to join ASPE please let me

know we may be able to help.

Don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions at

    [email protected].

Please, email me directly with any questions and/or

suggestions and I’ll try to answer them. If some of the topics

become hot items we’ll have an open forum, and discuss them

    at our monthly meetings.

    Thanks,

    Ovi Muresan CPD, LEED AP

HAPPY NEW YEAR, I wish all of you a healthy and

prosperous year. 2017 will be a very busy year for our

chapter. Our next big event in addition to our monthly

meetings will be The Product Show on March 15, 2017.

This month for our technical offering, we are planning a discussion

on a different design challenge. In commercial work, the plumbing

engineer is often called upon for piping design outside of “ordinary”

plumbing systems. This would include piping systems in support of

systems or equipment that are outside of traditional plumbing

scope, often including specific processes or specialty equipment.

One particular example is emergency generator fuel systems. I will

lead a discussion and review of this unique challenge, and share

some solutions that we have developed.

I look forward to seeing you there.

    Dennis M. Connelly, CPD

    VP-Technical

Your ASPE Board is working hard, planning for the year.

Current programing is on-going for several coming activities.

Firstly, we are planning for our annual Product Show, coming

in March. Aside from the show itself, we are anticipate two

technical sessions to offer for continuing education. We

currently have one program confirmed and hope to announce

both program offerings by our next meeting, later this month.

    Stay tuned for updates.

Also, planning continues looking farther into the future, and

preparing for 2018, when the Atlanta Chapter will host the

ASPE National Convention and Engineered Plumbing

Exposition. This will be a great event, but will only be truly

successful with the help of all our members. Please keep your

eyes and ears open for opportunities to participate.

Greetings to all and a Happy New Year!

I wish all a very happy and successful 2017, and hope it

is prosperous, healthy and happy for all! I spent

a wonderful holiday season traveling and enjoying

family and friends, but now we’re back and busy as

can be. From my seat, the year is starting off in high

gear; hopefully we are all going on this ride together!

Do you have a colleague or friend that could benefit from such

services? If so, I challenge you to bring them to our next dinner

    meeting.

As always, members are the backbone of our Chapter and Society.

The more members we have, the more value WE create. We are

constantly probing for new ideas in regards to increasing

membership and involvement in the Atlanta Chapter. Please feel

free to contact me with any suggestions you may have. My phone

number is 770-255- 6643, and my email address is

    [email protected].

In other news…. We are setting up an ASPE sponsored skeet

shoot day at Tom Low shooting grounds. The shoot is scheduled

for May 3 rd from 11 am to 3 pm 2017 with a rain date of May 10th.

Lunch will be catered by Beaver Creek Biscuit and Barbecue.

Currently we are set up for 50 people to attend and depending on

the response we get from our members/vendors that number could

grow to a maximum of 100.

I personally believe we stand above others because the

Atlanta ASPE Board focuses specifically on providing our

members with a valuable service. A service we are to provide

    by:

    * Keeping our members up-to- date on current trends, code

changes, and technologies affecting the plumbing

    engineering industry;

    * Providing our members with direct access to the latest

    information and technical developments in the field;

    * Offering education and professional growth and

    development opportunities;

    * Maintaining a Chapter network that enables our members

to build personal and professional contacts and to network

with engineers, designers, wholesalers, and manufacturers. It

makes for a unique opportunity for peer-to- peer

and professional-to- professional interaction in an informal

    and friendly setting.

Atlanta ASPE Chapter membership is doing well. We are

above the 200 member mark at 206 members to be

precise, and recently added a new member. Please join

me in welcoming Chris Barr with C.L. Barr &

Associated. Let’s make sure we show them why the

Atlanta Chapter stands above the others.

I hope you all are ready for the upcoming product show, March 15th @ The Crowne Plaza Perimeter. It’s shaping up to be one of

drinks, prizes & of course our annual SUPER competitive putt putt contest……..So get the word out, pass it along to your

coworkers and reps mention it in your travels!!!

See you all at our next dinner meeting, hope you all have an amazing month.

    God Bless,

Happy New Year everyone and welcome to 2017 and the resurgence of construction! In my travels last year I was able to

see firms with a steady influx of work, both new & remodels and so far this year, things haven’t changed a bit.
