Another future project is Repairing
Homes to give a decent standard of living.
Many families fit 5 to 9 people living in
one room. They do not have heat, gas,
water, good windows or the ceiling. These
kind of problems are very common in Olt
County. We can be involved in this project
by making different repairs or by
replacing the broken items. Also we can
build new rooms, woodstoves (heating
units) or wells.

Soup Kitchen in Stoenesti - The
HFCO is covering the cost of a hot meal
once a week for low-income individuals in
Stoenesti. (15-18 people)
teaching.
The purpose of the program is to reduce
school drop-out rates. Another purpose is
for children and their families to know
God.
Also at the beginning of each
school year, children from low-income
families receive school supplies.
HFCO supplies a few families
giving monthly packages with food or
covers some basic needs as:
medication, firewood, clothing, footwear
or other necessary items. Occasionally,
this project expands its families
Milk for families- In this project
HFCO pays the monthly cost of milk for
7 low-income families with children.
Each family receives 1.5 liters of milk
weekly.
After School Program This
program is a 3 hour time period in which
approximately 12-15 children from low-
income families receive individual help
for their schoolwork and spiritual
or individuals depending on how many
goods we receive from our sponsors.
Current Projects
The group that is the most
affected by poverty is families withmany children. Due to poverty
children do not go to school but rather
they are begging on the streets.
For this reason we believe there is a
solution to reduce the number of
children not going to school, illiteracy
and begging. The solution for this
would be extending the After School
Program into a Day Center for
children who are at high risk for
leaving school. Activities in which we
want to encourage kids to go to school
include: giving school supplies at the
beginning of the school year, daily
lunches, and schoolwork help, teaching
different classes, workshops and
spiritual counseling.
