Although MLA 7th no longer requires the use of URL when citing web sources, the IBO still requires them.

Break the URL only after a slash. Insert angle brackets around the URL.

Formatting the Works Cited page

Margins: 1” all around Title: Works Cited (centered) Alphabetical order by authors' last names (surnames), or by

title (for sources without authors). Hanging Indentation: first line of each entry flush with left

margin, subsequent lines indented. Double spaced: between and within entries. Capitalize the first word and all other main words of titles and

subtitles (do not capitalize articles, prepositions, coordinating conjunctions, or the "to" in infinitives).

Use "and," not an ampersand [&], when listing multiple authors of a single work.

Italics: in the past, MLA provided a choice for use of underlying or italics. Changes effective July 2009 require now the use of italics.

In 1985, women aged 65 and older were 59% more likely than men of the same of age to reside in a nursing home, and though 11,700 less women of that age group were enrolled in 1999, men over the same time period ranged from 30,000 to 39,000 persons while women accounted for 49,00 to 61,500 (see table 1).

Formatting graphics in MLA maps, drawings, photographs, diagrams, charts, videos,

podcasts are labeled Figure or Fig. Refer to the figure in-text (see fig. 1) MLA does not specify alignment requirements for figures; thus,

these images may be embedded as the reader sees fit. However, continue to follow basic MLA Style formatting (e.g. one-inch margins).

Below the figure, provide a label name and its corresponding arabic numeral (no bold or italics), followed by a period (e.g. Fig. 1.). Here, Figure and Fig. are capitalized.

Beginning with the same line as the label and number, provide a title and/or caption as well as relevant source information in note form (see instructions and examples above). If you provide source information with your illustrations, you do not need to provide this information on the Works Cited page.
