Affirmative Action: A View from the Global South Ockert Dupper & Kamala Sankaran (Editors)

Published by SUN MeDIA Stellenbosch as the seventh volume in the STIAS Series, this publication provides insight into a range of aspects of the affirmative action policies in seven countries from Africa, Asia, South America and the Middle East. In addition to these national perspectives, important theoretical concepts and international developments on affirmative action are explored.

War and Society: Participation and RemembranceSouth African black and coloured troops in the First World War, 1914-1918 – Albert Grundlingh In this book, published by SUN MeDIA Stellenbosch, Professor Grundlingh draws upon a wide range of sources to reflect anew upon South African participation in the First World War, and particularly the role played by South African black and coloured participants in the conflict. In addition, the remembrance of the SS Mendi disaster in 1917 and its subsequent mythological dimensions are assessed, as are the notions of a presumed Cape Corps military tradition.

Cape Baroque and the contribution of Anton ReithHans FransenIn this book published by SUN MeDIA Stellenbosch under the Rapid Access Publishers imprint, the author investigates whether, and to what extent, the surprisingly rich body of Cape material culture – the decorative gables of its homesteads, the city mansions with their ornate entrances and cornices, the superbly crafted armoires – can be seen as an integral part of international Baroque: that ebullient style of painting, architecture and design that swept across Europe and some of its spheres of influence.

SUN MeDIA Stellenbosch het hierdie jaar weer die produksie van die Matie Dagboeke suksesvol hanteer. Dié hardeband boekies is vir elke student ’n kosbare besitting aangesien alle belangrike inligting oor studentwees daarin verskyn. Soos in 2014, is daar weer vier verskillende omslagontwerpe.
