The drop off of the lunch needs to take place before 12:20 pm. Parents will bring lunches into the foyer and place them on the lunch table. We will have labels on which to put your child’s name.

Students will pick up lunches from 12:20-12:25 pm. If on the rare occasion you are late to deliver the lunch, please bring the

lunch directly to the office and we will arrange delivery.

Thank you for delivering lunches on time and following our routine to make it safe for all. Safety First.

LUNCH DROP OFF

Being Safe on Our Yard

Intermediate Girls Basketball Team and NBA Coach David Nurse On October 27th, Mr. Thomas and Above the 6 Youth Basketball Association, took five members from our intermediate girls’ basketball team, Jessica, Paris, Naki (who won top female shooter), Michelle and Yanellys (missing from picture), to a special shooting clinic put on by one of the NBA’s top shooting coaches, David Nurse. The “Perfect Shots” clinic took place at Centennial College from 6-9pm, and featured players representing rep teams from across the GTA. The girls got to learn directly from David Nurse as he worked to perfect their shooting technique. They also got to hear Coach Nurse tell stories of working with some of the NBA’s best players.

The girls are serious about defending their York Region Championship and looking to win an unprecedented third championship in a row! Mr. Thomas

STUDENT LED CONFERENCES- NOVEMBER 24th & 25th, 2016

Monday November 14, 2016 Dear Parents and Guardians: Our first Elementary Progress Reports will be sent home to parents/guardians on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2016. Your child and classroom teacher are looking forward to meeting with you to review their progress to date at the upcoming Student Led Conferences which are scheduled to be held on either the evening of Thursday, November 24th (3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) or during the day on Friday, November 25th (8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.). Student led conferences will be scheduled for students in SK to Grade 8 and will be approximately 20 minutes in length. Please note that 3 or 4 conferences will be occurring at the same time in each classroom. Student Led Conferences are different from Parent-Teacher interviews, as your child will be leading the discussion and presenting their work. The word “conference” is used because the word implies a sharing of information among equals. This Student Led Conference is a celebration of your child’s successes and a review of next steps in learning. The conference may include the sharing of work samples, touring the classroom, and a discussion with your child about their personal learning goals and next steps for improvement. Please use the form attached to indicate your preference for a date and time for your Student Led Conference with your child. Please return this form no later than Thursday November 17, 2016. When booking interviews, priority will be given to families whose form has been returned by the due date and to the booking of consecutive interviews for families with more than one child attending the school. Again, your child and classroom teacher are looking forward to meeting with you at the Student Led Conference. Should you have comments, questions or concerns, please contact us at the school at (905) 887-2656. Sincerely, Calvin Darby, Principal Janice Perera-Baker, Vice Principal Ashton Meadows P.S.
