.......... A School for Dance Education Teacher’s Profile Ms Ashleigh Kpop /Girls’ Style/ Hip Hop Ashleigh’s dance journey began when she was 3 years old with Ballet. Ever since, she has been a passionate dancer who enjoys being on stage; expressing her love for dance. Throughout Ashleigh’s school days (Primary school to Polytechnic), she did numerous performances, be it in schools or external shows, which all built up to her strong foundation of performing on stage. In early 2006, Ashleigh started dancing to K-Pop. Influenced by various popular old school and new school K-Pop Girl Groups such as Baby V.O.X, Jewelry, Girls’ Generation, Wonder Girls, f(x), SISTAR etc, her dance style is described as girly, sensual and groovy. From 2010, Ashleigh started joining numerous dance competitions. In 2012, Ashleigh’s dance crew ‘SWAGirls’ emerged as Champion for ‘KPOP! Top of the Pops’ Dance Competition. They also achieved various titles such as 3rd place for Teenage KPOP Dance Battle, 3rd place for Best Asian Pop Contest. In 2013, they came in 2nd place for both Straits Times’ Mind Your Body KPOP Dance Challenge and Pulse! Streetdance Competition. A fulfilling milestone, Ashleigh humbly achieved the title ‘Best Dancer Award’ for the K-Pop Open Category of the Pulse! Streetdance Competition in the same year. Ashleigh joined Dance Factory in September 2013. She choreographed two items for the school’s You’ll Never Dance Alone Concert – Da Funky Town 2013, which held on 15th December 2013. As one of the DF Crew trainers, Ashleigh coaches the DFBabes. Under her guidance, the crew came in 3rd place for Youthstar K-Pop Dance Competition 2014. Aspiring to be a versatile dancer, Ashleigh believes that even though she is now a dance teacher, she is still a learner. Moving on, Ashleigh has started teaching beyond K-Pop dance; with Hip Hop as a stepping stone, she aspires to teach more dance genres in the near future.

 Representing Dancepointe Academy, Ashleigh is also teaching Children’s Hip Hop at EtonHouse Pre-school with students age 3 to 6. As a bubbly and energetic individual, Ashleigh makes her lessons fun, engaging and enriching for all her precious little ones.
