The bluff campus is made up of seven buildings on 16 acres. The major student residence, Durham hall, features two-room suites with private bathrooms. Other residence buildings include Regis hall and the nearby best Western location. As a student, you'll have access to study lounges and recreation areas. This small environment makes it easy to get to know your fellow students and faculty. In fact, many students choose Ashford for that reason alone.
A big part of living on campus is having fun with your fellow Saints. Here are some cool ideas for what to do when you need some downtime:

THE GUIDE
dr. ChArlie minniCKAs Dean of the college of business and Professional Studies, charlie minnick truly believes in the value of hard work. Of his role as a dean and professor at Ashford, minnick says, “I have never worked harder in my life, but I have never had so much fun working so hard, either.”
minnick credits his work ethic to his parents and to his upbringing in a small farming community in West central Illinois. “my parents instilled in me the importance of doing whatever is necessary to get the job done.” he says he fell in love with Ashford the moment he first set foot on campus: “Once I met with the faculty, I knew that I wanted to become a member of this incredible group of dedicated professionals. I have enjoyed every busy day since.”
After completing his bA in Advertising and Public Relations and his mbA at St. Ambrose university, minnick went on to earn his PhD from Walden university in management and Decision Sciences, along with a concentration in Leadership and Organizational change. Altogether, he has a record of success in higher education stretching back over 15 years.
To Ashford’s students, he likes to share these words of wisdom:
“First, be a participant and not just a spectator in your life. Second, many of our successes in life are a result of somebody believing in us. Try to be that someone, and give away opportunities for others.”

For more than 40 years, Sister William mccue has helped guide students and watched them as they make their way through school at Ashford univer-sity. She’s watched them change from the time they first stepped onto the campus until the day they graduated.
but the students are not the only thing that has changed since she first began teaching in Clinton. When Sister William started teaching, the university was still a Junior college. Since then she has seen it grow to become a four-year college and finally a university that confers graduate degrees. “I’m very grateful for the privilege of being at the university for so many years,” she says.
When she is not teaching in the classroom, Sister William can be found at most of the university’s home athletic events. “I believe in the holistic teach-ing approach,” she said. “I like to see my students in extracurricular activities and other classes. I love to see their gifts and talents.” Sister William attends almost every home basketball, soccer and volleyball game.
