Day Camp Overview

GENERAL INFORMATION: Payment for camp can be by cash,check or credit card. We accept VISA, Amex, MasterCard, andDiscover. A $35 deposit is due upon registration and is non-refundable. Here are some friendly camp payment reminders:• Camp balances are due in full one week before the camp start date.• Payment plans are available upon request. • Financial assistance information is available through member services & must be applied for and approved before registration. Funds are limited - apply early.• All participants must be current Y facility or program members.• All refunds will be given in the form of credit. Credits are accepted for all Y programs at the Northwest Y and are valid for one year from the issue date.• There is a $35 cancellation fee and/or transfer fee per camper per session to cover processing fees.• Any parent or guardian with a past due balance will not be allowed to continue to register his or her camper(s) for additional weeks until the balance is paid in full.• There will be an additional charge of $37.50 for returned checks. • Parents of children dismissed from camp for behavioral problems will not receive a refund or credit.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:We are accepting applications. Financial assistance is awarded on a first come, first servebasis. Metro Atlanta YMCA branches actively seek to reduceYMCA fees for those in need. Summer Camp financial aid islimited and may take several weeks to process. *Please complete your application in full and provide all necessarysupporting documents and submit it as soon as possible.PLEASE NOTE: Submitting your application does not guarantee you financial aid or your preferred camp sessions.After approval of financial assistance, please make sure youstop by the Y and register for your preferred Summer Camp session as soon as possible in order to ensure a spot in thecamp. Download a financial aid form on our website at www.ymcaatlanta.org or stop by the Y and pick one up at the front desk. Financial Aid applicants should not register online. Financial Aid approval must be processed before Summer Camp registration.

*Supporting documents include two forms of financial verification from each adult in the household, (e.g. Two paystubs, government assistance award letters, unemploymentaward letters and last year’s 1040).

YMCA MEMBERSHIP: Camp fees are notedfor YMCA facility members (MEM) and program members (PRO). Facility membersenjoy reduced rates, as a benefit of member-ship. For those who wish to participate inYMCA programs without use of the facility, aYEARLY Program Member fee of $40/family isrequired in addition to fees for your programof choice. YMCA facility membership mustremain current throughout the summer toqualify for the facility member rates.

WHAT TO BRING TO CAMP: Each childshould have a backpack containing a lunch,drink, 2 snacks, water bottle, sunscreen,swimsuit, towel and wet weather apparel.Closed-toed shoes required. LABEL everythingwith a permanent marker. Do not send yourcamper in anything new or valuable. Wearplay clothes! For your child’s safety, pleaseprovide your own sunscreen and apply it before child arrives to camp.

Preschool Camps

Holiday Hoopla: It’s Christmas, Halloween, Valentine’s Day,and Easter! This camp rolls all of your favorite holidays intoone week. We will dress up, make crafts, listen to stories andend the week with a holiday parade.Session 6: June 27 - July 1

Bugs, Birds & Butterflies: Grab a magnifying glass andbinoculars (we will provide these!) and get ready for an up-close look at our six-legged and two-winged friends.Campers will learn about a variety of insects, birds and butterflies, create habitats for their favorites, and enjoy a special "live" presentation from an animal specialist.Session 7 : July 5 - July 8*

Splish Splash – Beach Week: Grab your towel and flip-flopsand head over to our Y “beach” where you will find watergames, water slides, obstacle courses, beachy crafts, funwith sand and lunch on our beach towels.Session 8: July 11 - July 15

Splish Splash – Under the Sea: Let your imagination takeyou into the ocean as we learn about our favorite sea creatures like dolphins, whales and seahorses. Campers willenjoy sprinkler fun, wading pools and the water slide.Session 9: July 18 - July 22

Fun With Food: Campers will measure, mix, and taste theirdelicious creations like pancakes, pasta salad, and smoothies. Children will be encouraged to taste new foods,explore with their senses and build on basic skills that laythe foundations to healthy eating habits.Session 10: July 25 - July 29

Classic Camp ages 5–8: Our Classic Day Campwill be filled with excitement, energy and funall summer long. Our camps focus on creatingan atmosphere of fun and learning in a structured and safe environment. Each week hasits own theme to help provide a focus, direction and new twist. Weekly activities willinclude swimming, arts and crafts, sports, nature activities, group games, Fun Fridays andso much more! Our qualified and well-trainedcamp counselors will lead activities that helpto build campers’ self confidence, develop their social skills, teach them teamwork, deepentheir respect for themselves and others andbuild long, lasting friendships. Camp High Harbour on Lake Allatoonaages 9-12: Campers will be bused from the Y toYMCA Camp High Harbour which is located on beautiful LakeAllatoona. Day campers will learn new camp activities andskills that are valuable for life while having fun! Campers willenjoy swimming, arts & crafts, nature study, ropes course,songs & skits, climbing tower, field games, boat rides, hiking,archery, team sports, tubing and much more! TEEN CAMPS

Teen Camp ages 13-17: The Y believes in cause-driven leaders. This program will teach your child leadership skillsand provide them with the tools they need to make healthylife decisions while teaching others the YMCA mission andcharacter values. Session 1: School’s Out!Enjoy traditional summertime backyard-style activities as we celebrate the start of summer!

Session 2: Ocean CommotionCome explore the mysteries of the sea! Learnabout the changing tides, currents and wavepatterns. Become experts on dolphins, whales,jellyfish and more of your favorite sea creatures.

Session 3: Land Before TimeMarch back in time as we explore the first animals and plants on earth. Our week will focuson dinosaurs, fossils and prehistoric mysteries.

Session 4: Storming the CastleCalling all Lords, Ladies, Knights and Princesses!We will create dragons, forts, castles and compete against other kingdoms.

Session 5: SuperheroesLet’s celebrate our favorite superheroes as wemake our own capes and logos, create skits andsongs, and play games of empowerment. We willalso set goals for ourselves, conquer new fearsand become real-life superheroes.

Session 6: HolidazeIt’s Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day andthe 4th of July! We will have fun with all of yourfavorite holidays this week through skits, parades, crafts and games.

Session 7: Decades WeekGet your neon socks, big hair, tie dye shirts andRubik’s cubes! We will visit the 60’s, 70’s, 80’sand 90’s as we travel through time, revisiting ourfavorite styles, games and activities.

Session 8: Sports of All SortsIt’s time to throw, catch, kick, run and score! Wewill play all of your favorite sports while emphasizing physical activity, teamwork, sportsmanship and FUN!

Session 9: Cruise WeekCome aboard for a week-long cruise as we tourthe Caribbean. We will play water games, createsand art, and limbo our way through the week aswe explore the islands.

Session 10: Camp Northwest OlympicsWe will celebrate the Olympic spirit as we formteams for some friendly competition. A varietyof sports, games and challenges will help usstrive for the gold as we build character andstrengthen our friendships.

Learn to Swim Camp ages 4–6: Campers will be grouped according to ability to learn basic swimming and safety skills.Our well-trained aquatics staff will work on a wide range ofskills such as floating, kicking, breathing and even strokes,while helping them to conquer their fears and grow theirconfidence. Lesson time will be followed by free time in thepool, as well as crafts, skits and games.Sessions 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 & 10

Jr. Creation Station Camp ages 4-7: Join us for a week ofself expression as you create your own works of art throughpainting, sculpting, drawing, beading and tie-dying. Session 7

Fit Kids Camp ages 6-12: This camp is designed to help kidsdevelop a healthy body, mind and spirit through a variety offitness activities, action games, and challenges, all designedto promote endurance, balance, strength and confidence.Activities will include rock climbing, yoga, Zumba, swimming,and much more! Sessions 2, 5 & 8

Junior Olympians ages 7-12: Confident swimmers will learnand perfect the four competitive strokes while building self-confidence and challenging themselves. Our instructorswill work with each swimmer’s ability level to help themprogress and have fun. Campers will also enjoy activities likecrafts, skits and outdoor games. Sessions 3 & 9

Creation Station Camp ages 7-12:Join us for a week of self expression as you create your own works of art through painting, sculpting, drawing, beading and tie-dying. Session 4 & 9

Dance Camp ages 4–8: Your young dancer willhave a blast gaining coordination, flexibility,and self-confidence. We will learn dances thatinclude ballet, tap and hip hop moves.Campers will perform in an end-of-the-weekshow on Friday. Sessions 4 & 6

Tumble and Cheer Camp ages 6–12: Camperswill enjoy team building activities, learn basiccheers and moves, build on their tumblingskills, and create choreographed moves todisplay for parents on the last day of camp.Our Y Dance and Tumble Academy staff willhelp your camper improve their balance, coordination and flexibility while helpingeveryone have a blast. Sessions 2 &10

Tumble, Jr. ages 4–6: This camp is for boysand girls who want to jump, twist, roll,bounce and learn new tumbling moves safelywhile having fun. Our Y Dance and TumbleAcademy staff will work at your child’s skilllevel to help improve balance and coordination, as well as lead exciting gamesand challenges. Sessions 7 & 9

Princess Camp ages 4–8: Your little princesswill enjoy activities like dancing, dress-up,sparkly crafts, stories, songs and a tea party.Your child will practice social skills, learnproper manners and work on coordinationand self-confidence. We will end our weekwith a Princess Parade. Sessions 3, 5 & 8

STEM Scientists Camp ages 7–12: Camperswill explore the world of STEM (science, engineering, technology and math) throughhands on learning activities. We will emphasize scientific methods as we build,create, solve problems and complete challenges. Sessions 3, 6 & 10
