Dear Fellow Cattlemen and Friends,

We are glad to welcome you to the Annual Double Feature

Sale. We have been selling bulls together for 13 years. To our

returning customers, we appreciate your support over the

years and to new customers, we are looking forward to meeting

you. We think you will be pleased with the offerings.

Though we are two separate Angus breeders our end goals are

very similar. Our cow herds are selected for fleshing ability,

problem free udders and fertility. We strive to produce bulls

with moderate birth weights, accelerated growth traits and

acceptable carcass traits. The bulls are the result of mating

decisions made by evaluating EPD and performance data, while

giving attention to traits that arent measured by numbers

good udders, sound feet, good dispositions, eye appeal and

soundness. Both Ash Creek Acres and Alcove Cattle Co. use an

aggressive AI program to capture new and popular bulls, which

in turn gives you more choice. Through the embryo program

at Alcove Cattle Co. we are able to offer full brothers for the

producer who wants similar genetics for a large herd. These

bulls are ready to go to work for you.

We are offering some excellent open yearling Angus heifers.Be sure to take a look at these females. They would be great

additions to your herd. The heifers offered by Alcove Cattle

Co. are registered heifers, while the heifers offered by Ash

Creek Acres are commercial heifers.

Both the bulls and the heifers have been ultrasounded, pelvic

scored and vaccinated. Additionally they have been tested for

BVD and are guaranteed PI negative. Every registered animal

selling has either been tested free of Arthrogryposis Multiplex

(AM), Neuropathic Hydrocephalus (NH), and Contractural

arachnodactyly (CA) or have no carrier ancestry for the defects

in their pedigree.

This has been another tough winter on humans and cattle.

The cold especially has been difficult, but we feel the bulls

have done well with tough conditions. We look forward to a

wonderful spring.

Choosing a herd sire is an important decision. It affects your

herd and your income for years to come. We both stress good

disposition in our cattle. A recent study has shown that docile

cattle resulted in $40 more profit as compared to nervous and

aggressive cattle. We strive to provide you with Angus cattle

that are easy to handle and add value to your herd. If you have

any questions about the offerings in this catalog, please give

either of us a call. We encourage you to view the bulls before

the sale or come early on sale day.

about tHe bullSThe bulls were placed on a feed performance program at

Pannbacker Farms of Washington, KS, and fed as a group.

The bulls were weighed and ADG taken on Feb. 18. The

bulls averaged 5.01 ADG as a group very good given theextreme weather we experienced during the test period.

All the bulls have passed their semen evaluations. Bulls

may be viewed at Pannbacker Farms located 1 mile westand mile south of Washington.
