Whilst Blockchain technology is most often associated with Bitcoin and other
cryptocurrencies, there is use of the technology for other services.
An article from AllCoinsNews in July highlighted Berlin-based company Ascribe, a
startup providing IP and copyright tracking and protection using Bitcoin’s Blockchain.
The company has continued to expand and they now count Titanium Comics as a user
of their blockchain-based ownership platform.
Being one of the first companies to sell their comics in bitcoins, Titanium Comics
continues to revolutionize the comic book industry – not only with their unique
storylines and characters, but also by offering digital limited editions of their work.
Titanium Comics has been eager to praise the services and possibilities offered by
Ascribe, highlighting the significant benefits of using it to protect and monitor their IP.
Creating a timestamped record on the blockchain not only allows the company to have
evidence of ownership which is as safe as Joshua Arcane (one of their characters –
pretty much invulnerable thanks to being protected by one of Lucifer’s daughters –
awesome!), but also reduces the amount of time and money spent on traditional forms
of IP and copyright protection. With such a quick and easy process available to them,
all their effort can go into producing future comics.
However, possibly even more useful is the opportunity this provides for Titanium
Comics, other publishers and companies to produce limited or special editions of

means that fans and collectors can feel secure in purchasing genuine, exclusive copies.

companies can feel confident in utilizing technology and digital media to reduce their
outputs for physical assets: saving money on printing, shipping, binding and the like
only increases the efficiency of the business.
