Read the scripture on the ‘Day 8’ tag and hang it on your line. John 10:11, I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
Hang
The bible teaches us that Christ is our good shepherd. Talk as a family about the many ways Christ looks after his sheep. Explain how the shepherd’s crook is used to keep sheep from wandering or getting lost.
Form a heart with two candy canes turned inward. Talk as a family about how the red and white colors can symbolize Christ’s sacrifice for us as well as his purity. The Bible teaches that “He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: and with his stripes we are healed” (Isa. 53:4–5). The red stripes on the candy cane should remind us that Jesus suffered and died for us because he loves us.
