B.S Abdur Rahman University entered into an MOU with the University of Cambridge ESOL Exams inNovember 2010 to enhance the quality of the learning and teaching of English Language and to helpimprove the professional development of the language teachers of the University.

1. Several teacher support programmes were organized to prepare the faculties of the Departmentof English for conducting Business English Certificate Courses and their related exams.

2. Orientation programmes were conducted to highlight the importance and scope of BusinessEnglish Certificate courses to the students of B. Tech.

3. The syllabi of the Business English Certificate Courses (Preliminary & Vantage level) wereintegrated into the syllabi of the Communication Skills Laboratory Courses I & II offered to thestudents of I year & II year B. Tech.

4. The University became a centre for conducting exams related to BEC Courses.

5. A Computer-based exam was conducted to all the students of I year B. Tech successfully.

6. Nine of the students from various branches of engineering performed exceedingly well in theNovember 2011 (Vantage level) exams and were selected for the
