Piping irrigation water is a key challenge in farming and rural areas – precisely where Acu-Tech’s Acu-Rural poly pipe offers a reliable solution. These imperial size pipes are economical, environmentally sustainable, and available to customers across the country through a wide distributor network. Acu-Rural poly pipe is manufactured in W.A. in the most common imperial sizes, to suit rural industry standard requirements.

Acu-Rural poly pipe has been designed specifically for the rural irrigation market. High resistance to impact and weathering makes Acu-Rural HDPE pipes ideal for the most demanding applications. Made from PE100 polyethylene, Acu-Rural poly pipe does not corrode or tuberculate, and maintains its flow capability over long periods of time. Lightweight coils enable fast and easy installation with minimum joints, and the most common sizes also come in shorter 50m lengths to reduce waste when adding short sections to your existing pipeline.

Acu-Tech supplies HDPE piping systems to the farming and rural market through established wholesalers, meaning stocks of pipe and fittings are locally available to customers in the W.A. rural sector. Alternatively, Acu-Tech can arrange transport to regional areas, from our large stocks of standard sizes. Rural compression fittings are also in imperial sizes, although adaptors to metric pipe sizes are readily available.

Acu-Tech’s range of metric blueline HDPE pipe is suitable for pressurized systems when installed according to AS 3500.1:2003 “Water services”. Acu-Water pressure pipe can be used for potable water, as it is manufactured from food grade polyethylene material. Blueline pipes suit metric compression fittings, and can also be welded with electrofusion fittings or butt fusion welding. While 50 years is the minimum design life, according to TEPPFA a correctly designed and installed HDPE pipe system will last for at least 100 years. (See www.pipa.com.au).

Acu-Tech PE100 pipe has high flow capacity due to its smooth bore and combination of long lengths and end-to-end jointing methods, which reduces the number of joins in the pipeline. It does not rust, rot, pit, or corrode when in contact with drinking water or approved chemicals, and the smooth internal diameter resists build up and scaling. PE100 does not normally support the growth of, nor is affected by, algae, bacteria or fungi. Acu-Water HDPE pipe is extremely tough and flexible, and can be field bent to a radius 25 times the nominal pipe diameter (SDR11 and SDR17 ≥ 20°C). This flexibility reduces the need for fittings, and therefore reduces potential leak points.

Acu-Water 20 mm to 110 mm diameter pipe is available in 50, 100, 150 and 200 metre coils. Larger diameters and custom lengths can be made to order. Acu-Water 25 mm to 630 mm diameter pipe is generally available in 6 and 12 metre lengths. Lengths of up to 22 metres are made to order. Contact us today for more information!

Imperial Size Compression Fittings for Rural ApplicationsPlasson rural fittings are designed specifically for the Australian outback. They have distinctive long red barbs for reliable pipe joins and are a hand-tightened fitting, to ease installation. Plasson pipe fittings are made for jointing, reduction, redirection and repair of rural PE pipe. Couplings, 90° tees, reducing tees, 90° elbows and 45° elbows are all available with male or female BSP threaded outlets, or with standard ends. End plugs, adaptor fittings, imperial-to-metric conversion kits, clamp saddles and tapping saddles are also available. Acu-Tech maintains stock of the most common Plasson compression fittings, as well as equipment and accessories to aid pipeline installation.

Acu-Therm – White Coated Pipe for Better Heat ToleranceFor above ground pipelines or temporary water supply, Acu-Therm HDPE pipe (25 mm to 800 mm OD) is the perfect solution. This PE pressure pipe has a highly reflective white jacket coating on the outside to minimise solar heating of the pipe and its contents. Testing has demonstrated the white jacket can reduce heating by more than 50%. This provides cost savings in both HDPE material and through increased pipeline flow rates.
