What can I expect from my AS Sociology course? You will be expected to attend all lessons, and make use of

the facilities available at the college such as the library, structured study area, VLE, etc.

You will be required for homework to use your student booklet/handbook and make notes on a REGULAR basis which will be checked in class by me (3 hours a week)

Tips for success Be conscientious – keep your resources in a central place, including

assignments briefs, notes, and make sure that you proof read your work. Be punctual – attend your lessons on time and any other relevant guest

speakers/trips, etc. a few minutes lost could be the difference between a Pass, Merit or a Distinction.

Be organised – you will not only be working towards my deadlines but also Jane’s so use a diary, calendar on your smart phone to make sure you meet all deadlines.

ASK FOR HELP – remember if you don’t ask you don’t get so feel free to ask myself, Jane, Librarians, teachers in the structured study area next to room 24.

Make full use of the computer based session to get one to one support from me.
