At Outdure, we know that stylish, durable solutions that are simple to install create the

perfect alfresco experience.

Building or renovating a home can be a big task.

Add to this short deadlines, limited resources

and being filmed for television – and it could be

a recipe for disaster. That’s why it was important

for The Block to choose quality and easy to use

materials. Outdure’s products and solutions have

featured already on The Block NZ, so when we

got the call from The Block Australia expressing

interest in using our product for the 2019 season,

we knew our products were fit for the task!

This brochure will share with you the behind-

the-scenes glimpse on how to perfect that

outdoor area, and how the contestants did just

that using Outdure’s products.

We’ll share with you all the design tips for the

Courtyard and the Rooftop, and what The Block

contestants thought about working with

Outdure’s product.

The Block needed a durable solution suitable for

both the courtyards and the rooftop deck areas.

With limited heights, working over waterproofed

areas and multiple drainage units that needed to

be accessed regularly – there really was no

other product on the market more suitable than

Outdure’s QwickBuild system. With the ability to

finish off the area with tiles, decking, or turf

- the design options are limitless.

All contestants created their own unique look using Outdure’s surface ranges installed on Outdure’s QwickBuild®

framing system as the support structure. Because the framework is made from moisture-proof structural aluminium,

instead of traditional timber sub-frames; it means you can install your deck or tiled area without having to worry about

it rotting. QwickBuild easily enables a level finish between the deck and the interior floor level, so no step-down!

The system is also a safe, stable and level alternative to wobbly ‘pods on pavers’.

COURTYARD DESIGN TIPS

Here are the top tips for how each house achieved the look

they were after…

HOUSE 4

GET THE LOOKHOUSE 1

Mitch and Mark decided on a fun and vibrant

outdoor entertaining area. They selected our

Mineral structural tiles in Oasis to complement

the eclectic range of materials and tiled seats.

HOUSE 2

Tess and Luke’s outdoor aesthetic is a dark and

modern look to match the interior style of their

home. To achieve this, they integrated two

different Mineral range tiles in Oasis and Haze.

Don’t be afraid to create a wow factor using

contrasting colours.

HOUSE 3

Deb and Andy wanted to create a beach feel

style with natural accents, which they achieved

with UltraPlush turf and Stone Inspire Omaha tile.

The use of turf and creating planter boxes with

lots of greenery, creates an outdoor oasis within

a modern townhouse dwelling.

HOUSE 4

El'ise and Matt achieved a simple outdoor area

that seamlessly integrated from their living room

to the outside. They chose Stone Inspire in River

finish for a natural effect.

HOUSE 5 – THE WINNERS (COVER)

Jesse and Mel opted to add a green wall as the

key feature, complemented by Stone Inspire

Omaha, for an elegant outdoor entertaining area

and the beautifully crafted bench seats.
