Learn both beginner and advanced techniques as you experiment with alcohol inks on a variety of surfaces. Each week students will further develop their skills with this unique medium.

Watercolors Pat RaymanIn this popular course, students will learn traditional techniques, ways to break the rules and how to mix and layer colors. They will create unique compositions and use watercolors in exciting new ways. Learn the history of henna and how it is used today. Draw fun and intricate patterns on your own skin. Henna ink is a stain that will last about 10 days.

Papier Mâché Mask for Kids Leslie NewtonKids in this class will love papier mâché-ing over a mold to create a mask with its own unique emotion. Then they will use various colors of paint and craft materials to decorate their own masks. Beginning Photo Encaustics Mary Ellen BertramDo you love photography, but want to take it to a new level? This mixed media class teaches the history of encaustic painting. Learn how to blend encaustic painting with photography and collage. Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, involves using heated beeswax and colored pigments. Explore various techniques on wood panels and directly on paper surfaces. You can even use oil sticks to enhance textural details. Photos will be available or you can bring one on a phone or tablet. Needle Felted Bunnies Carol TropfJust in time for Easter and Spring decorating, this delightful 5” rabbit be-gins his life from a cookie cutter! Wooden Barn Quilting Mindy Crewdson LacyCreate a 20”x20” wooden barn quilt. Supplies are provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own acrylic paints if desired. Four Seasons Needle Felting: Spring Finch Carol TropfSky blue wool roving is needle felted to a 4 inch Styrofoam ball to form a base for a beautiful yellow and black goldfinch perched on a lavender flow-er. Students will learn how to transfer a pattern to the ball and needle felt colorful wool roving to complete this seasonal bird ornament. Music-Playing Together Rachel Haque In this class, children will focus on forming small and large group melodies. Can we find a tune for that? Oil Painting Leslie NewtonThis class offers a quick, easy approach to oil painting. A subject will be suggested, but students can work independently as well. This class is for painters of all skill levels. Decorative Approach to Clay Kimberly AndersonThis class will put focus on ceramic decoration techniques. Students at all levels will learn about brushwork, using slip and oxides applied to the surface of a pot. Other techniques like combing, faceting, padding, slip trailing, sgraffito, and wax resisting will also be taught.Session 1: Thursdays, beginning January 23 (6 weeks) Cost:$95Time: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Ages: 15+

Oil Painting Steve McClungThis class is for anyone from beginners to experienced painters. Students will learn how to create realistic landscapes by learning and utilizing different brush stroke techniques, careful color mixing, and creating depth in paintings. Molding Clay for 3-5 Year Old Children Marie McKinleyKids will love this hands-on modeling class for 3-5 year old children. We will use wax, Play-Dough and resources from nature to experience how a tactile medium can be manipulated. This introductory experience prepares young children for future hand-building clay classes. A parent or guardian is required to attend.

St. Francis and the Birds – A Play for Children Rachel HaqueStudents will expand their exploration of movement and recitation with the preparation and presentation of a short play. St. Francis stops his journey to pray with the birds sharing his reverential relationship to our fellow creatures and creation from which the Canticle of the Sun is born. Decorate Easter Eggs/Pysanky Eggs Kelly CarpenterPysanky are Ukrainian Easter eggs decorated using beeswax and dyes that are applied in layers. The colorful, decorated eggs symbolize the release of the earth from the shackles of winter and the coming of spring with its promise of new hope, new life and prosperity. Students will learn how to decorate eggs in the Pysanka method using traditional tools, waxes and dyes. (No class March 23.) Make a Coiled Flowerpot Lindsay EdwardsBring the whole family together for a fun bonding experience! Learn to coil, pinch, roll, and shape clay to make a functional flowerpot.
