Artur Rubinstein was a Polish-American pianist. He was born in 1887 in Łódź, Poland. Rubinstein

began study at the age of three and at the age of eight studied at the Warsaw Conservatory. Rubinstein was seven when he made his first public appearance, and he made his European debut in Berlin at 13. In 1904, Rubinstein moved to Paris to launch

his career in earnest. He earned a lot of achievements, for example:

Polonia Restituta (Poland), Cross of Alfonso XII (Spain), National

Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences Lifetime Achievement Award,

1994.

George M. Hayward (real name Jerzy Maciej Siennicki) was born in 1938 in Warsaw, Poland. Now he lives in United States, but in the past he used to live in Ursus, a suberb located just 6 miles from center of Warsaw. He arrived in New York on the morning of February 22, 1952. He wasn’t able to speak English language at all. In 1997 he wrote an ‘American Dream’, story of his life.
