-During the 1880s John Rustik, William Morris, and Phillip Webb started the Arts and Crafts style movement.-Typical amount of stories to the home is about 1-2 stories-building material comes from the environment where the home is built-A few distinctive features of this home is the natural look to it such as brick, timber, or stone. Cultured life style for people.
-Is an American domestic architectural, interior design, landscape design, and applied arts style and lifestyle philosophy that began in the last years of the 19th century..
-This style is mostly used for residential because they are homes. Built from natural things in the environment it is being built. -Started in Great Britain and Europe moved to the United States from there. Used a lot in the Mountains and in the desert.
Greek Revival -The Greek Revival was an architectural movement of the late 18th and early 19th.- The usual amount of stories is about 1-3
floors- Typically made from stone or marble .
Homes in the Greek Revival style were usually painted white to resemble the white marble of impressive and costly public buildings. The details were bold, but with simple moldings.
- Distinctive features would be the marble column's in the front entrance. Usually painted white, formal nice homes.
Color would mostly be white with columns. Smooth formal strucutre.Formal housed mostly used in government buildings and nice houses.
Differences
One difference would be that Greek revival is made of marble and is whiteAnother would be arts and crafts is mostly made out of natural things related to that area.Greek revival is also more formal and greek revival has symmetry.
