to the 17th annual Peterborough Artists’ Open Studios (PAOS)PAOS is a membership group of local, talented artists who live or work in the Greater Peterborough/PE postcode area. Our artists open their homes, studios, galleries and often gardens to showcase their work during three separate weekends for Open Studios. This usually takes place between June and July each year.
This year we have a total of 93 individual artists exhibiting at 41 locations. You will have the opportunity to see many art forms including textiles, jewellery, ceramics, mosaics, digital art, printmaking and painting in its many forms – something for everyone! We are privileged to have so many talented artists working across a wide range of medium on our doorstep, so please take the opportunity to support them during the Open Studios 2017 weekends.
Following on from the success of last year’s prize draw, we are again offering you the chance to win £100 worth of vouchers to spend on an artist(s) of your choice. You need to visit 8 or more venues to enter – see full details on how to take part on pages 5 & 6.
In this Directory, you will find details of the artists, their locations and opening times, together with contact details and a brief overview of their artistic disciplines. You will also find a helpful map in the centre pages to help you plan your journey. Full artist details and an online version of the Directory is also available on our website www.paos.org.uk.
To find out more about other exhibitions and events please visit our website and follow us on Facebook & Twitter @ArtPeterborough
What to expectYou will get a warm welcome at all our venues, many of which are the artists’ own home. In some you will be able to look around the garden and/or enjoy refreshments so look for the symbols: next to the artist’s information.
In some venues, there will be more than one artist exhibiting. Sometimes you will be invited into the artist’s studio to see work in progress, as well as finished work; in other venues, you will just see the finished art on display. You will be able to talk to the artists about their work and methods and in some venues, you will be able to see demonstrations. There will be work for sale wherever you go. Entry is free and there will never be any obligation to buy.
We ask that you respect the venues wherever you go, bearing in mind that you will often be in the artist’s private home. Please note that whilst cash & cheques are usually acceptable, a few artists may accept cards.
AccessAs most venues are private homes, disabled access may be limited, so if in doubt, please telephone the artists in advance to discuss your requirements.
Liability and CopyrightThe Peterborough Artists Open Studios Group cannot accept liability for any loss, damage or injury sustained by any member of the public visiting any of the venues. The public does so entirely at its own risk.
The copyright in all artists’ images in this Directory, on our website and in all works on display is owned by the individual artists.
We hope you enjoy your visits.
