Circuit Dates: 2426 September Suchismita and Debopriya sisters, born at Allahabad hail from a family of musicians. Their parents Mr. Robin & Mrs. Krishna Chatterjee are well known musicians and have imparted early training of vocal music to them. Under the guidance of late Pandit Bholanath Prasanna, they received their initial flute training at Allahabad. Belonging to a family of musicians they were later inspired to, and have had the privilege of being disciples of the great flautistPadmavibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. Music Academics They completed their D.M. (Docenten Musicus) and U.M. (Uitvoerend Musicus) with distinction from the "Rotterdam’s World Music Conservatory", (Holland) in the year 19971998. They also studied western classical music apart from their main subject flute. They completed their “Sangeet Prabhakar” (Bachelor of music.) from Prayag Sangeet Samiti – Allahabad, in the year 20002001, in both Vocal & Flute. Suchismita won the gold and Debopriya won the silver medal in flute. They have completed the “Sangeet Pravin” (master of music) from Prayag Sangeet Samiti Allahabad, in the year 20042005, in both Vocal & flute and topped the list of successful candidates, where Debopriya won the gold and Suchismita won the silver medal in flute. They are graded artists of "Aakashwani" (Mumbai Kendra). Scholarships Suchismita and Debopriya were both awarded a scholarship from “Nuffic” through the Indian Embassy (Holland) for the year 19961998, while they were studying there. Debopriya has been awarded the National scholarship from the department of culture (Govt. of India) for the year 20012003 to pursue her musical endeavors. Both of them had also received a scholarship from “Vrindaban Gurukul” for the year 20002001. Performances For the past fifteen years they have had the honor & privilege of accompanying their guru on stage for various prestigious concerts in India and abroad. To name a few, The Dover Lane Music Conference Kolkata, Savai Gandharva Music Festival pune. Saptak music festival Ahmedad, Uttar Pada music conference Kolkata. They have also performed individually at various music conferences and soirees, in Delhi, Allahabad, Kolkata, Varanasi,

Their first individual performance at Bombay was the prestigious music conference                   "Sampoorna Yugal Sangeet Ratri" on the 7th of Jan 1995, which was telecast on National                           Hook up, which earned them name and appreciation from connoisseurs of Indian Classical                       music.

AchievementsThey have performed in one of India’s most prestigious conferences “Kal Ke Kalakar” where                         they were awarded the title “Sur Mani” and also performed at "Swami Haridas Sangeet                         Sammelan” in December 2001, which is one of the most prestigious conferences of Indian                         Classical Music.

Debopriya has been bestowed the “Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar” for the year 2008 by                           the Sangeet Natak Akademi.

Born into a music loving family from western Karanataka, rhythm flows in his blood. He had his                               

initial tutelage under Pt.G.S.Hegde of Sirsi and well­known Tabla master Pt.Basavaraj                   

Bendigere. Later he met his guru Pt.Ravindra Yavagal of Bangalore with whom he learnt and                           

further honed his skills to inculcate Ustad Tirakhawa style of Tabla.

Gurumurthy a graded artistic of AIR, has also popularized “Laya Vinyasa”, an ensemble of Tabla,                           

Pakhawaj, Yakshagana Chende & Mrudanga over many prestigious stages which has gained its                       

own popularity appealing to the crowds.
