About the artist:Born into an artistic family and having lived and worked in New York, Tokyo, Shanghai, Singapore, Peru and Colombia it has become increasingly difficult to summarize the nomadic life and influences of Harrison Love.A graduate of The Rhode Island School of Design (RISD ‘08), Harrison is currently living and working in San Francisco. Within the past year Harrison was nominated as the Creative Director of Big Umbrella Studios (a co-op art gallery and studio space in San Francisco) and is now the curator of several projects both in the US, in Europe and South East Asia.Harrison Love is the recipient of several National and State Scholastic Awards, winner of the 2014 Scholastic POP UP Art Show in NYC, as well as the winner of “Best in Show,” at The Annual Brooklyn Salon Show in 2012.

“The works I exhibit are meant to communicate.In my more illustrative technique I follow more narrative methods. However, through abstraction, I seek to create a blissful/playful atmosphere, combining the techniques of street style graffiti and
calligraphy into expressive abstraction.My work is designed to instigate artistic debate and understanding by underscoring the superficial
question, ‘what does it mean,’ by emphasizing the more important question, ‘what does it do?’”

“The Seasons,” a collaboration between Mac and Harrison Love. The composition of four paintings to illustrate the changing seasons, was created for CitiPond at Bryant Park NYC, for the 2011 Winter Season.The works were deliberately created to withstand harsh environmental contiions and were hung in an open air environment for 6 months.

LOVE SPECTRUM a collaboration between Colin Bowring and Harrison Love
A collaborative installation of mirrors and prisms of defracted sunlight, translated into bands of projected rainbows reflected around a workspace in which the artists demonstrated various artistic techniques, including printmaking, painting, writing and sculpture from September 21st-27th in the Scholastic Store main display window at 557 Broadway, New York, NY.
The installation was comprised mainly of mirrors and mylar sheets suspended by wire. During the 10 day exhibition the artist performed live before a captive audience for 10 hours a day, creating and printing additions of woodblock prints.
