A free art adventure for all to enjoy! The Lakeshore Art Festival and Downtown Muskegon Now have partnered to bring you Chalk The Walk! Join us on Friday with friends and family to chalk the streets of downtown. We need YOU to Chalk The Walk and add your personal splash of color to the event. Chalk will be provided for free or bring your own if you’d like!

FINE ART/FINE CRAFTEvent Partner: Nichols
With a keen eye and an intentional focus on fine art, the Lakeshore Art Festival is proud to feature over 145 jury selected Fine Art/Fine Craft exhibitors throughout beautiful Hackley Park. In its lush green setting with accents of vibrant flowery hues, the park hosts permanent works of art and is steps away from one of the nation’s best art museums, the Muskegon Museum of Art.
During the show, our exhibitors will be juried by professional artist and Grand Valley State University professor, Sarah Weber. Recognition of exhibitorswill be as follows:
$1,000 – First Place/Best in Show
$800 – Second Place
$600 – Third Place
$400 – Honorable Mention
$200 – Committee’s Choice
Awards created locally by Aenias Design Studio.
CRAFT/ARTISAN FOOD MARKETThe festival features a Craft section and an Artisan Food Market. Exhibitors from around the country will be selling handcrafted items ranging from jewelry, apparel and accessories to furniture, yard art and home décor. The Artisan Food Market is located on Clay Ave. offering spices, sweets, gourmet doggie treats and more!

Show our artists some love! Vote for your favorite craft exhibitor by visiting lakeshoreartfestival.org and entering their booth number during the event Friday. Booth numbers are displayed within each craft exhibitor’s space located throughout the streets. Winners will be announced Saturday.

INTERACTIVE & COMMUNITY ARTKayak Sculpture ProjectEvent Partners: Sun Dolphin, Hooker DeJong, Hazekamp’s Premier Foods, Community Foundation for Muskegon County, Muskegon Museum of Art, The Little River Tribe
Several local and regional artists are participating in the first ever Kayak Sculpture Project. The project will be a display of awe-inspiring visual art utilizing kayaks made by Muskegon’s own global leader in kayak manufacturing – Hemisphere Design Works/Sun Dolphin. The sculptures will be unveiled on July 5 and will be on display throughout the summer.

“Opening Doors To Possibilities” is a community art project utilizing upcycled doors and turning them into works of art. The Door Project will include 15 local schools decorating/painting refurbished doors. The doors will be displayed during the festival. Additionally, Nuveen Art Center will host a door painting celebration for guests to paint during the Lakeshore Art Festival. This project is made possible by a grant from the Community Foundation for Muskegon County and our event partners.
Emerging Authors TentEvent Partner: Michigan Authors
This year, the Lakeshore Art Festival welcomes nearly 20 authors to the festival. These Michigan authors will be showcasing their original books in a new section of the festival footprint, near Clay Ave. and 2nd St.
K-12 Student Art ShowcaseEvent Partner: Muskegon Area ISD
The exhibition of artwork from Muskegon County students, grades K-12 will be returning for 2018. We invite you to chat with the students and take home a unique piece of budding artistry! All proceeds go to the student artists.
