Tahmina NegmatTahmina Negmat (1994, Russia) says to be afraid of everything in life, except painting, after Lars von Trier. Negmat creates unconventional wall sculptures, composed of paint and terracotta, and sticky painting liquids. The latter mentioned technique refers to the melting of candy and sugary substances during the hot summers of the artist’s youth. The other works, made of terracotta and paint, arose of a process whereby the artist’s re-enacted the madness caused by chemicals of an old clock restorer. A process whereby the artist deliberately pushed and turned the technical GPS of the materials.

Negmat was awarded the Valerie Beston Artists’trust - Prize in 2018 during her final year at the Royal College of Art in London. Coming May the artist will have a solo exhibtion at Marlborough Fine Art in London.

Hannah PerryThe multidisciplinary pratice of artist Hannah Perry (1984, UK) can be understood as a non-lineair diary, composed of found and self made video images, photo’s, tekst, poetry, and sound bits, using video, silkscreen prints, sculptures and performance. At the fair the gallery shows an immersive film on VR-glas-ses, created using a custom rigged 360° camera built by Perry, that surrounds viewers with the contorted, continuously shifting movement of bodies. The film is narrated with fragmented spoken word that ebbs and flows with the images, summoning the highs and lows of both the everyday and life changing events, including the impact trauma and grief can have on our physical and mental state. In an intensely personal yet universal exploration of the experience of loss, the installation marks the first time Perry has chosen to address the tragedy of the recent suicide of her best friend and artistic collaborator, Pete Morrow. Morrow’s diaristic writing and verse provide the basis for her moving inquiry into romance, psychosis and our relationship to death, along with the words of young people from London South East College, Plumstead, who Perry met through a series of workshops at Somerset House.

Recently Hannah Perry has had (a.o.) major solo exhibtions at Somerset House London (2018), and Kunstverein Hamburg (2019). In 2014 Perry developed a performance project for the Serpentine Gallery in London upon invitation of curator Hans Ulrich Obrist.

Waldemar ZimbelmannArtist Waldemar Zimbelmann (1984, KC) creates mythical and fairy-like worlds of human and animal-like figures, composed of color pencil, acrylic paint on paper, wood, canvas, and sometimes on a background of recycled materials. Zimbelmann uses glimpses of autobiographical elements, like his direct family; wife and kids, and his youth in Kazakhstan and turns them into a language of its own.

Recently Zimbelmann has had a three-person exhibition entitled ‘Oh Youth and Beauty” at Museo MAN in Nuoro (IT, 2018-19) together with Anna Bjerger and Louis Fratino curated by Luigi Fassi. Zimbelmann is also represented by gallery Meyer Riegger (Berlin, Karlsruhe) and has showed there in many solo, group en fair presentations.

Tahmina NegmatTahmina Negmat (1994, Russia) zegt voor alles bang te zijn behalve voor schilderen. Een opmerking geleend van Lars von Trier. Negmat maakt onconventionele wandsculpturen van o.a. verf en terracotta, en plakkerige verfmaterialen. Die laatst genoemde techniek gebruikt de kunstenaar vooral in de ‘Mirror Glaze’ serie. Een serie die verwijst naar het smelten van suikergoed tijdens de warme zomers van haar jeugd. De andere werken, gemaakt van o.a. terracotta en verf, zijn ontstaan in een proces waarbij de kunstenaar zich een door chemicaliën gestoorde klok restaurateur waande. Een proces waarbij de kunstenaar bewust andere dan gangbare routes voor het materiaal koos.

Negmat won in 2018 de Valerie Beston Artists’ Trust - prijs naar aanleiding van haar eind presentatie op de Royal Collage of Art in Londen. In mei zal zij een tentoonstelling hebben bij Marlborough Fine Art in Londen.

Hannah PerryHet werk van Hannah Perry (1984, UK) laat zich lezen als een non-lineair dagboek, samengesteld uit gevonden en zelfgemaakte filmbeelden, foto’s, tekst- en geluidsfragmenten, en uitgevoerd in video, silkcreen prints, sculpturen en performances. Het zijn poëtische gestes, die de ‘coming of age’ van een jonge vrouw tonen. Liefde, mentale gezondheid, kwetsbaarheid, subculturen en de vrouwelijke verhouding tot de mannelijke sekse zijn terugkerende thema’s. Op de beurs laat de kunstenaar een nieuw video werk zien, gemonteerd tot 365gr film en getoond op een ‘virtual reality’ - bril. Het werk is een eerbetoon aan het gevecht met mentale gezondheid, en specifiek aan Pete Morrow, een vriend van de kunstenaar die onlangs zelfmoord pleegde.

Waldemar ZimbelmannWaldemar Zimbelmann (1984, KZ) creëert mythische en sprookjes achtige werelden van mens- en dierfiguren, opgebouwd met kleurpotloden, en acrylverf, op papier, hout of canvas en soms op een achtergrond van aan elkaar verbonden gerecycled materialen. Zimbelmann abstraheert het autobiografische, en verwijst hierbij naar zijn directe familie; zijn vrouw en kinderen, en naar zijn jeugd op het platteland vanKazakhstan.

Recentelijk had hij een tentoonstelling met Anna Bjerger en Louis Fratino in het Museo Man in Nuoro (IT), getiteld ‘ Oh Youth and Beauty’ (2019) samengesteld door directeur en curator Luigi Fassi. Zimbelmann wordt tevens vertegenwoordigd door Galerie Meyer Riegger (Berlijn, Karlsruhe) en toonde daar zijn werk in meerdere solo tentoonstellingen en op beurzen.
