ART 321 News JULY 2018 NEWSLETTER
CALL FOR ART
Please remember that Art 321 will be holding the 24th Annual International Miniature Show this August. Artists are invited to
enter their small, original works of art in any of the following medi-ums: oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, pastel, mixed media, graphics, hand-pulled prints or sculpture using any materials –
wood, stone, metals, plaster or clay. Image size is limited to 25 square inches and can be no larger than 1/6 life-size. Complete rules can be obtained at ART 321 or at www.art321.org . The
deadline for art is JULY 27TH. Cash prizes will be awarded to Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. This year, the judge for the show is Barbara Kuxhausen.
From Diane Harrop, ART 321 Director
Do you have a simple art project that you would be willing to
lead during one of our Healing Through Art sessions? The
open studio times will be on Tuesday afternoons from 1-3 all
during August when anyone affected by suicide, depression,
anxiety or related mental illnesses is invited to come to ART
321 for free arts activities. If you have ideas for a small group
project, please come by and talk with Susie or Diane.
ART WARS – EPISODE 1 launches on August 2! The
Natrona County Sheriff’s Department and Casper Fire - EMS
Department have challenged each other to a friendly Art War
during the month of August. Representatives from each de-
partment will be mounting a small exhibition showcasing their
creative talents. The public is invited to vote for their favorite
show from August 2 – September 6 by placing money in the
corresponding jar. The winning department will choose a local
nonprofit organization to receive ½ of the total donations with
ART 321 retaining the rest to help fund operations.
ART 321’s 2018 yART Sale was a huge success, bringing in
more than twice as much money to support our organization’s
operations than the 2017 event did. We extend a huge thank
you to all of you who supported this event by donating or pur-
chasing items and express special appreciation to the many
volunteers who contributed time and energy to make this all
work. We will continue to accept donations of any art-related
items throughout the year for future sales, so please share this
information with anyone who might have things to donate.
We also thank Mike Olson, Casper College Ceramics, and
Peter Jakubowski, Brandy Dean, Thom Bumblauskas, and all
the other participating artists from Clay Arts Vegas who joined
solo ceramics artists from around the region and helped to
launch the ART 321 Wyoming Clay
Festival & Pottery Sale. Please come
back often – we loved having you here!
Please help us thank Brenda Shafer,
who is retiring from her job at ART 321
after three years of splendid service.
We also ask you to welcome Joanna
(Jo) LaPerriere who has agreed to
come on board to replace Brenda.

ART 321 thanks Make-A-Wish Wyoming for their recent donation of a gently-used computer. We will use this gift in many ways, but first and foremost, it will allow us to computerize our list of hundreds of art-related resource books and
DVDs in the ART 321 lending li-brary, making it easier for borrow-ers to locate exactly what they are looking for. We truly appreciate this wonderful gesture of nonprofit sharing and good will!

Attention Jewelry & Fiber Artists: We have
recently seen a wonderful increase in the
number of jewelry & fiber artists signing up
to sell their artwork in the Chapman Gift
Gallery. To fairly and appropriately showcase
each artist’s work, we have amended our
Policies & Procedures to include the follow-
ing:
Each artist will be limited to submitting 12
items for each turn around. As a guideline,
there are 12 lines on our submission form.
With jewelry, a set can be considered as 1
item; however, we remind you that people
often like the choice of purchasing pieces
separately which is not possible if listed as a
set. Earrings all need to be brought in on an
earring card.
