Overview
Case 10699 consisted of five (5) soil samples and two (2) watersamples for volatile, semi-volatile, and pesticide/PCB analyses.Included in this case were one (1) equipment blank and one (1)trip blank. The trip blank was analyzed for volatile organicsonly. One sample was analyzed for pesticide/PCB compounds only.The samples were analyzed as a Contract Laboratory Program (CLP)Routine Analytical Service (RAS) .

Summary
All samples were successfully analyzed for all target compoundswith the exception of 2-butanone and 3-nitroaniline. Allinstrument and method sensitivities were according to theContract Laboratory Program (CLP) Routine Analytical Services(RAS) protocol.
Ma-jor Problem
o The response factors (RFs) for 2-butanone, and 3-nitroanilinewere less than 0.05 in the initial and/or continuingcalibrations. The quantitation limits for these compoundswere t|fiiified "R" for unreliable in the affected samples.

Minor Problems
o Several compounds failed precision criteria for continuingcalibrations. Positive results are qualified "J" anddetection limits are qualified "UJ" for the affected samples.(See Table I in Appendix F) . . « D o n i r • •An ou J 64 I
o The semi-volatile surrogates of samples CY753DL, "CY753MSDL,CY753MSDDL were outside the QC limits, due to dilution.

The extractions of the semi-volatile fraction in samplesCY754 and CY760 were performed three (3) days in excess ofholding time. The extractions of the pesticide fraction insamples CY753 and CY767 were performed four (4) days inexcess of holding time. The quantitation limits for thesesamples were qualified "UL", and positive results arequalified "L".
The percent recovery of dibutylchlorendate was outside the QClimits in samples CY767, CY753MS, CY753MSD and CY753.This is due to the interference from samples matrix presentin these medium level soils. The surrogate recovery was alsooutside the QC limits for PBLKM.
Medium level sem-volatile extractions of samples CY753 andCY767 were performed. The data summary forms show dilutionfactors of 60 for these samples due to the medium levelextraction. These two samples were run at two differentdilutions, both dilutions were used in the data summary form.
Medium level pesticide extraction of samples CY753 and CY767were performed. The data summary form shows dilution factorsof 300 for CY753 and 150 for CY767, due to the medium levelextraction and dilution.
The dilution factor for the pesticide analysis of sampleCY767 was corrected during the data review. (See the SupportDocuments of Appendix F).
NOTES
The maximum concentrations of all compounds found in thetrip or method blanks are listed below. All samples withconcentrations of common laboratory contaminants less thanten times (<lOx) the blank level and uncommon laboratorycontaminants less than five times (<5x) the blank level havebeen qualified "B" on the data summary. (See also AppendixF). ^
