How to Use London TransitThere are many different ways to pay for buses and tubes, but the cheapest is to use an Oyster Card. You can use the oyster card for day trips on buses and subways – the Tube. Each electronic Oyster Travelcard comes pre-loaded with a credit or value to match your London Pass duration. If you buy a London Pass and Travel package, you'll get an Oyster Travelcard programmed with enough credit to cover two days of travel. A three-day London Pass gives you three days of travel and you get 6 days of travel with a six day London Pass – and so on. All you need to do is tap in and out of the ticket barriers to validate your journeys. You will only spend up to a certain amount each day on travel, due to Transport for London's daily credit cap - so you can make as many journeys as you want within 24 hours for a set charge.Don’t forget to register your Oyster Card online. You can set the card for one day or longer or forever

______________________________________________________________Warfare & Settlement in EnglandThere has been settlement and warfare in England since before there even was an England. The first war that really united England was the Norman invasion in 1066, but two major battles that did as much to shape modern England are the 100 Years War and the English Civil War.The 100 Years War was fought as a series of battles between 1337 and 1453 between the England and France. The war concerned lands in modern-day France claimed by England through royal marriages and inheritance. At the centre of the battles was the duchy of Guyenne and Aquitaine, claimed by England but well inside France and protected by the French crown. Complicating the land dispute was the even greater claim of Englland on the entire kingdom of France through King Henry V, the last direct descendant of French king, Charles IV. Another battle involving royal perspective was the The First English civil war. It was called the battle of Naseby and was fought on June 14 1645 between the Royalists and the Parliamentarians. The Royalist were led by King Charles I, whose extravagant lifestyle and contempt for parliament led the Parliamentarians, under Sir Thomas Fairfax and Oliver Cromwell to challenge his authority. The Parliamentarians won the war by killing over 1000 Royalists, capturing more than 6000 and, eventually, executing the king.______________________________________________________________Governance & Borders

The borders of England have been in constant change as the empire expanded and sometimes contracted. The last change to the border was in 1921 when Ireland left the UK and Northern Ireland was created. England’s closest equivalent of confederation would be the creation of United Kingdom with the Act of Union of England and Scotland in 1707______________________________________________________________London Universities & PopulationEngland has many of the world’s best schools, including top-ranked post-secondary schools not far from London::

o Oxford University, Oxford o Cambridge University, Cambridgeo London School of Economics, London

The population of the metro area of London is 8.5 million as of 2014, and still growing quickly. There are 64.5 million people in all of the UK.
