Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Visakhapatnam Corporate Communications Department MEDIA RELEASE DATE 21.12.2013 AROGYAVANAM ADDS CHARM TO UKKUNAGARAM Sri AP Choudhary, CMD, RINL inaugurated a unique “Arogyavanam -cum -Medicinal Park” at a glittering function held today in Ukkunagaram. The Arogyavanam with 50 varieties of medicinal plants is developed in a sprawling 5 acres of land on the foothills of Hill Top Guest House by the Agro Forestry Department of RINL with in-house talent. Layout design for Arogyavanam has been made in such a way that it reflects like a human body. Speaking on the occasion, Sri Choudhary said that RINL is known for “Green Paradise” among all the steel plants in the country and VSP planted 5 million trees so far and is poised to complete its goal with plantation of another 1.3 million trees in tune with its objective of “one tree for one ton of steel” produced. Arogyavanam will go a long way in improving the health standards of RINL employees who are working with stress and strain in critical production units, he said. Sri Choudhary disclosed that RINL achieved “Excellent MOU Rating” for 2012-13. It’s a good sign for RINL to achieve new bench marks in various parameters, said Sri Choudhary.

He said that RINL has been recognized for good corporate governance and brand image in the steel industry and urged the collective of RINL and union leaders to strive for boosting the image of the company further to compete in the international market.
