Key Army I&E IGI&S Policy and Practices

• Data Standards – Standards for installation data maintenance, documentation, and sharing– Spatial Data Standard for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE)

data model• Data Proponency and Quality Assurance Plans *

– Align GIS to functional areas to reduce redundancy, improve integration

– Provide guidance to data stewards, collectors, and users with data layer acceptance criteria

• Common Installation Picture (CIP) *– Minimum set of standard data needed for I&E mapping

and analysis– Promote efficient data use across numerous

business/mission functions– All installations required to maintain

Army Mapper Teaming – Real Property

• The hardcopy land acquisition maps are audited tract maps from USACE District Real Estate Offices

• The Army compiles this data by georeferencing and digitizing audited tract maps collected from USACE Districts

• USGS quads and/or BLM township and range data aid in the georeferencing process

• All data is checked against imagery to ensure precision

Army Mapper Teaming – Real Property

• Having electronically formatted tract acquisition information that represents hard copy Audited Tract Acquisition Maps.

• Certified by the Chief of Real Estate and therefore used for future audited real estate tract map data updates and gathering information.

• Ability to use digital maps in the same functions and purposes as we use the hardcopy maps for Army real estate activities in planning, acquisition, management, and disposal.

• Ability to innovate and easily analyze data in a way that was unthinkable with traditional hard copy maps.
