Count Gavriil Ivanovich Golovkine was Royal Chancellor to Tsar Peter the

Great and his Ambassador to the Court of Louis XIV in the early 18th century.

He is also reputed to have been responsible for organising some of the Russian

Beefeater's Burrough's Reserve Gin is made to founder James Burrough's

original 1860 recipe. Distilled by hand using his original 'Still number 12' with a

hit on another great innovation: quininated gin. By infusing their spirit with

quinine and wormwood, Hendrick’s have created an complex and intriguing
