SHOWCASE DAY WRAP.

Branding Recognition for ArmadaleAn Amazing “Showcase” campaign saw our name branded exceptionally widely over the past 3 months.

We expect (repeated) name recognition and breadth of coverage to substantially increase our profile in coming months.Congratulations to our creative and very hard-working team who left ABSOLUTELY no PR avenue unturned.Our very exciting innovation included coverage via Facebook within an 8Km radius of the club; reaching over  18,500 people and 51,265 impressions.Great fun was had on the day.Photo Booth; Silent Disco, Food, Deco, even the weather;  all absolutely amazing.Congratulations to our Raffle Winners.And a big thank you to all our Members who bought and sold tickets. The next Bowls Holiday will be in Bendigo, from March 26 to March 29  2017A welcoming bowling club, great restaurants, and modern motel have been booked.A flyer will be sent to members in September/October, seeking deposits in November.Please keep these dates in mind. INFORMATION FROM OUR GREENKEEPER

Just a quick note to explain to the members about my company and our values. Our aim is to provide the best possible surface week to week for the members. We never take short cuts, we always roll twice, never once. We always roll on pennant days and other social bowls days, sometimes we roll Fridays in fact to try and make a small increase in pace for Saturday. We are well aware that the green can’t just be rolled Friday and not Saturday.

 We cut three times a week, we do everything possible to provide the members of the clubs we contract to the best possible playing surface on that particular day.Rain and watering will affect the pace on the grass. If we do get rain on a Friday sometimes we will roll early on Saturday morning as rolling brings water to the surface. This allows the green time to dry out before it is played on.I can assure the members the green is ALWAYS rolled every Saturday. Regards,

MACCABI VICTORIA HALL OF FAMETonight(Thursday 15th.) Maccabi Victoria will be hosting their 4th Hall of Fame Induction Dinner. This is held everyfive years. The HOF charter calls for up to ten nominees to be inducted. This year there are 24 nominees.Tonight three current Armadale Bowls members (Les Newman, Gail Nadelman and Marilyn Faiman) and a formermember(Mark Klaplish) have been nominated. We wish them good luck.

WEDNESDAY SOCIAL BOWLS

Our new season of Wednesday triples start Wednesday7th September 2016, at 12.30 til 4.00 pm.  You can form your own teams or come as a single entry and I will make a team for you.  We have had great success in previous years and look forward to seeing as many  of you as possible.  Members from other clubs are welcome. Duty rinks will be introduced this season for Saturday pennant. One rink per side will beselected each week. Details of their responsibilities will be made available.This has worked very successfully for many years for midweek pennant and we askevery member to assist when it is their turn.

LUCKY PLAYER PRIZE

To encourage players to come back into the clubhouse after pennant, the club will introduce a $50 luckyplayer prize every Tuesday and Saturday.Both home and away sides players will hopefully enjoy drinks from the bar and finger food and peanutswill be provided on Saturdays with tea, coffee, biscuits and cakes on the Tuesdays.Duty Rinks will be responsible for cleaning up afterwards.The winner will be decided by drawing a number out of "Pot A", 12 numbers onTuesdays and 16 numbers on Saturdays representing the rink numbers.A second number will be drawn from "Pot B" which will have 8 numbers as follows1(Lead Home), 2(Lead Away), 3 (Second Home), 4 (Second Away) etc.The draw will take place not before 3.00pm(Tuesdays) and 5.00pm(Saturdays)or 10 minutes after the end of the last rink.Only one draw will be made and the winner must be present to accept the prize.

Charity Support – Recycling SOUND

As a community service, Toorak Rotary Club has partnered with Blamey Saunders to recycle hearing aids no longer used.They can restore and distribute any older devices for many people in need.

We will arrange a box at the Club for any donations that you or others you know may have.This can play a critical role in greatly influencing quality of life and assist people gain and retain employment.   Thank you for your support.

FRIDAY COACHING

Friday Morning Coaching will continue as normal every Friday from 10:00am to 12:00pm while Alan Faigen is off recuperating.Bernard Levin will run the sessions in conjunction with Wolfe Groch. The session will continue to focus on Sides 5 to 9 but anyone is welcome to attend

MONDAY 2 BOWL TRIPLES

ENTRY FORMS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE CLUB AND TO BE PUT INTO THE SEALED BOX ON THE TABLECLUB TOURNAMENTS.Application for the club tournaments will be available this week. Please make sure you apply and pay before the 9th October. We will be running the same tournaments as last season, including the 100 up proportional competition which is a handicap event, so all participants are theoretically equal. See the rules for how this is scored.We would encourage members, especially newer members, to participate in as many competitions as possible, as these competitions are great fun and will definitely improve your bowls.The tournament rules are listed on pages 11 and 12 of the fixture book. Please make sure you are aware of the rules before you apply and note the following:Singles finals to be held on 18th Dec, or 19th Dec if required. The other finals will be on 9th April. All players, including the marker, must be in Bowls Australia approved uniform (Armadale uniform for the finals).Spouses may now mark for their partners.If you cannot complete your match before a play on date, you must get prior approval from the Tournament Committee (TC) or you may be excluded from the event.All substitutes must be approved by the TC in advance.
