(Ahmed) Commentary a. The hadith indicates that there will be no difference in the rule after the Prophet عليه وسلم صلى, in the sense that the Khilafah after him will be based upon his methodology, and follow his example. So there is unity between the Prophetic methodology and the methodology of the successors in applying the rule of Islam, with the only difference being the end of the revelation which was completed before the passing of the Prophet عليه وسلم صلى. b. The "biting Kingship" refers to the misapplication of the taking of the pledge of allegiance, which was taken by force and then subsequently handed down by hereditary rule rather than by consent as exemplified to us by the example of the Prophet عليه وسلم صلىand the first four Khulafaa. c. The "oppressive Kingship" is the period of time when the Muslims were ruled by those whose rule was based upon Islam but were oppressive upon the people, as indicated by the Prophet عليه وسلم صلىin other narrations that the Muslims should obey their leader even if he whips their backs as long as he does not order them to commit sin. d. The last part of the hadith is a glad tiding for the Muslim Ummah, a prophecy that there will again be Khilafah established, with the Will of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, based upon the Prophetic methodology.

1 | P a g e Prophecy of the return of the Khilafah upon the Prophetic example "There will be Prophethood for as long as Allah wills it to be, then He will remove it when He wills, then there will be Khilafah on the Prophetic method and it will be for as long as Allah wills, then He will remove it when He wills, then there will be biting Kingship for as long as Allah Wills, then He will remove it when He wills, then there will be oppressive kingship for as long as Allah wills, then he will remove it when He wills, and then there will be Khilafah upon the Prophetic method" and then he remained silent. The last part of the hadith is a glad tiding for the Muslim Ummah, a prophecy that there will again be Khilafah established, with the Will of Allah , based upon the Prophetic methodology. 2 | P a g e "Allah has promised those of you who have iman and do right actions that He will make them successors in the land as He made those before them successors, and will firmly establish for them their deen with which He is pleased and give them, in place of their fear, security. 'They worship Me, not associating anything with Me.' Any who are kafir after that, such people are deviators." (An-Nur, 24:55) 3 | P a g e "and the victory comes from no one but Allah" (Al-Imran, 3:126) "If Allah helps you, no one can vanquish you. If He forsakes you, who can help you after that? So the believers should put their trust in Allah." (Al-Imran, 3:160) "And expel them from where they have expelled you." (Al-Baqarah 2:191) 4 | P a g e "And hold tight to the rope of Allah and be not disunited"[Al-Imran, 3:103] "And let there arise out of you a group inviting to all that is good (Islam), enjoining the ma'roof (good) and forbidding the munkar (evil). And it is they who are successful."[Al-Imran, 3:104] 5 | P a g e Allah said, "And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.). Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return. They are those on whom are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided-ones." [Al-Baqarah, 2:155-157] 6 | P a g e "Indeed, Allah defends those who have believed. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone treacherous and ungrateful." [Al-Hajj, 22:38] Allah says, "It is He Who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the deen of Haq (truth), to make it superior over all deens, even though the Mushrikeen (pagans/idolaters) may detest (it)."[Tauba, 9:33] 7 | P a g e "Indeed in the Messenger of Allah you have the best example."[Al-Ahzab, 33:21] "And We have not sent you (O Muhammad) except as a Mercy to mankind."[Anbiya, 21:107] Allah says: "As for those who take the Kafir as allies in preference to the believers, do they hope to be honoured by them, when behold all honour (Izza) belongs to Allah alone." [TMQ An-Nisa: 139] 8 | P a g e Allah says: "O you who believe! I f you aid (the cause of) Allah, He will aid you, and plant your feet firmly."[TMQ Muhammad 47:7] Allah when He says: "Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly." [TMQ Al-Anfaal 8:60] 9 | P a g e And He says: "O you who believe do not take my enemy and your enemy as allies and protectors."[TMQ Al-Mumtahinah: 1] "O Prophet! We have sent you as a witness, and a bringer of good news and a warner, and a caller to Allah by His permission and a light-giving lamp." [Al-Ahzab, 33:45-46] "Do not be faint hearted, begging for peace when you are uppermost and Allah is with you and will not waste your efforts."[Muhammad: 35] 10 | P a g e "Then do you believe in a part of the Scripture and reject the rest? Then what is the recompense of those who do so among you, except disgrace in the life of this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they shall be consigned to the most grievous torment." (Baqara, 2:85) Allah has also states, "And judge between them with what Allah has revealed and do not follow their desires and beware that they do not divert you from any of what Allah has revealed." (Al-Maaida, 5:49) 11 | P a g e Allah's Deen. "They desire to extinguish Allah's Light with their mouths. But Allah refuses to do other than perfect His Light, even though the kafirun detest it." (At-Tawba, 9:32) Allah tells us, "Those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed, then they are the Kafiroon." (Al-Maaida, 5:47) 12 | P a g e Allah tells us in the Qur'an, "This day I have perfected your Deen for you, I have completed my favour upon you and have chosen Islam for you as your Deen." (Al-Maaida, 5:3) Allah says, "Invite to the way of your Lord..." [An-Nahl: 125] Allah says in the Qur'an, "Let there arise from amongst you a band of people, who call to Al-Khair, enjoining al-maroof and forbidding al-munkar. And they are those who will gain success."[Al-Imran: 104] 13 | P a g e Allah will avenge the Believers. "Allah has written, 'I will be victorious, I and My Messengers.' Allah is Most Strong, Almighty." (al-Mujaadila, 58:21) 14 | P a g e Allah says: "They desire to extinguish Allah's Light with their mouths. But Allah refuses to do other than perfect His Light, even though the kafirun detest it. It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the Deen of Truth to exalt it over every other deen, even though the idolaters detest it." (At-Tawba, 9:32-33) 15 | P a g e Allah, the Exalted, said, "Have you not seen those who claim that they have believed in what was revealed to you and what was revealed before you? They want to take their disputes to the Tght, while they were ordered to reject it. Satan wants to mislead them to a remote wrong way." [al-Nisa', 4:60] 16 | P a g e Allah says in his Kitaab Al-Kareem: "Today I have perfected your deen for you and completed My blessing upon you and I am pleased with Islam as a deen for you." (Al-Maa'idah, 5:3) He said: "We have sent down the Book to you making all things clear and as guidance and mercy and good news for the Muslims." (An-Nahl, 16:89) 17 | P a g e Allah states: "No, by your Lord, they are not believers until they make you their judge in the disputes that break out between them, and then find no resistance within themselves to what you decide and submit themselves completely." (An-Nisaa, 4:65) 18 | P a g e And he says: "Judge between them by what Allah has sent down and do not follow their whims and desires. And beware of them lest they lure you away from some of what Allah has sent down to you. If they turn their backs, then know that Allah wants to afflict them with some of their wrong actions. Many of mankind are deviators." (Al-Maa'idah, 5:49) 19 | P a g e He states: "They were very near to enticing you away from some of what We have revealed to you, hoping that you would invent something against Us. Then they would have taken you as their intimate. If We had not made you firm, you would have leaned towards them a little." (Al-Israa, 17:73-74) 20 | P a g e Allah states: "All those who follow My guidance will not go astray and will not be miserable. But if anyone turns away from My reminder, his life will be a dark and narrow one and on the Day of Rising We will gather him blind." (Taha, 20:123-124) And Allah states: "O You who believe! Respond to Allah and to the Messenger when He calls you to what will bring you to life!" (Al-Anfaal, 8:24) 21 | P a g e "O you who believe! Respond to Allah and the Messenger when he calls you to that which revives you -and know that Allah stands between man and his heart, and you will be gathered together to Him." [Anfal, 8:24] The he recited: "Such is the iron grip of your Lord when He seizes the cities which do wrong. His grip is painful, violent." [Hud, 11:102] 22 | P a g e He, the Exalted, says, "And We send down of the Qu'ran that which is a healing and a mercy to the believers; and the disbelievers it increases not, except in loss."[al-Israa, 17:82] In the Book of Allah, "Is it, then, the judgement of (the days of) Ignorance that they seek? Who is better in judgment than Allah, for a people who believe?"[al-Ma'idah, 5:50] 23 | P a g e Yet Allah has power over all things and Mubarak will go down in history as a fallen dictator, whose people hated him and his name will become a synonym for oppression just as his predecessor Pharaoh (firawn) was. "Today We will preserve your body so you can be a Sign for people who come after you. Surely many people are heedless of Our Signs."[Yunus, 10:92] "We will, without doubt, help our messengers and those who believe, in this life and on the Day when the Witnesses shall stand forth." [Ghafir, 40:51] 24 | P a g e "Say, 'O Allah! Master of the Kingdom! You give sovereignty to whoever You will You take sovereignty from whoever You will. You exalt whoever You will You abase whoever You will. All good is in Your hands. You have power over all things." (Al-'Imran, 3:26) "It was only a trial from You by which You misguided those You willed and guided those You willed. You are our Protector so forgive us and have mercy on us. You are the Best of Forgivers." (Al-A'raaf 7:155) 25 | P a g e Since he was fully aware of what was at the stake, "if I were to disobey my Lord, I should myself fear the penalty of a Great Day (to come)."[Yunus, 10:15] He said: "Allah does not love the disbelievers."[Al-Imraan, 3:32] 26 | P a g e He said: "And of mankind are some who take (for worship) others besides Allah as rivals (to Allah). They love them as they love Allah. But those who believe, love Allah more (than anything else)." [Al-Baqarah, 2:165] 27 | P a g e He said: "Say: If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your kindred, the wealth that you have gained, the commerce in which you fear a decline, and the dwellings in which you have delight in are dearer to you than Allah and His Messenger, and striving hard and fighting in His Cause, then wait until Allah brings about His Decision (torment). And Allah guides not the people who are Al-Fasiqun (the rebellious, disobedient to Allah)." [At-Tawbah, 9:24] 28 | P a g e Allah ta'ala says, "Say, 'O Allah! Master of the Kingdom! You give sovereignty to whoever You will You take sovereignty from whoever You will. You exalt whoever You will You abase whoever You will. All good is in Your hands. You have power over all things." (Al-'Imran, 3:26) 29 | P a g e They were people who cared for nothing nor sought anything except the pleasure of their Lord. "Indeed those who say, 'Our Lord is Allah,' and thereafter are steadfast, the angels descend on them 'Fear you not! Nor grieve! But receive the Glad Tidings of the Garden (of Bliss), that which you were promised!' We are your protectors in this life and in the Hereafter: therein shall you have all that your souls shall desire; therein shall you have all that you ask for!' A hospitable gift from One Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful" [Al Fussilat, 41:30-32] 30 | P a g e He alone that will certainly bring Help and Victory. "On that day, the muminun will rejoice in Allah's help. He grants victory to whoever He wills. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. That is Allah's promise. Allah does not break His promise. But most people do not know it." [Ar-Rum, 30:4-6] Allah says, "It is He Who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the deen of Haq (truth), to make it superior over all deens, even though the Mushrikeen (pagans/idolaters) may detest (it)."[Tauba, 9:33] 31 | P a g e Our lesson from the best example, "Indeed in the Messenger of Allah you have the best example."[Al-Ahzab, 33:21] "And We have not sent you (O Muhammad) except as a Mercy to mankind." [Anbiya, 21:107] * "Allah has cursed the disbelievers and prepared a Searing Blaze for them where they will remain timelessly, for ever and ever, not finding any protector or any helper." [Surah Al-Ahzab, 33:64-65] 32 | P a g e Those to whom We have given the Book rejoice at what has been revealed to you: but there are among the clans those who reject a part thereof. Say: I am commanded to worship Allah, and not to join partners with Him. Unto Him do I call, and unto Him is my return.[Surah Ar-Rad 13:36] Thus have We revealed it (the Quran), a code of judgement in the Arabic tongue. If you should follow their desires after all the knowledge you have been given, you shall have none to protect or shield you from God. [Surah Ar-Rad 13:37] 33 | P a g e We made this covenant with the Children of Israel: Worship none but God; show kindness to parents and kinsfolk and to the orphans and the poor; speak kindly to all people; attend regularly to your prayers and pay the obligatory charity. But, except for a few, you turned away and paid no heed. We made a covenant with you that you shall not shed your own blood or drive yourselves out of your own homeland. You acknowledged all that and bore witness to it. Yet there you are slaying yourselves, and driving some of your own people out of their homes, collaborating against them in sin and injustice. Had they come to you as captives you would have ransomed them. Their expulsion is indeed forbidden to you. Do you, then, believe in some parts of the Scriptures and deny others? Those of you who do this will have nothing for their reward other than ignominy in this life and, on the Day of Resurrection they shall be committed to a most grevious penalty. For Allah is not unmindful of what you do[Surah al Baqarah 2:84-85] 34 | P a g e "Those to whom people said, 'The people have gathered against you, so fear them.' But that merely increased their iman and they said, 'Allah is enough for us and the Best of Guardians.' So they returned with blessings and bounty from Allah and no evil touched them. They pursued the pleasure of Allah. Allah's favour is indeed immense." [Al-Imran, 3:173-174] 35 | P a g e "Allah always achieves His aim. Allah has appointed a measure for all things." (al-Talaaq, 65:3) He says, "And whosoever does not rule by whatever Allah has revealed, such are the Zalimun." (Al-Ma'idah: 45)

36 | P a g e RasulAllah said, : "Whoever dies without having an oath of allegiance (Bay'ah) on his neck he would die the death of Jahiliyyah." (Sahih Muslim) Muhammad said, : "Indeed, the Imam (Khaleefah) is the shield from behind whom you fight and protect yourselves." (Sahih Muslim) the Khilafah is the only guarantee for the progress and prosperity of the country. 37 | P a g e Allah says, "And if the people of the towns had believed and had the Taqwa, certainly, We should have opened for them blessings from the heaven and the earth" (Al-A'raf: 96) respond to the command of Allah to remove the current regime and establish the Khilafah as you responded to His command to fast in Ramadan. 38 | P a g e

* * * * * * * * "Nay! When the earth is ground to powder. And your Rabb comes with the angels in rows. And Hell will be brought near that Day; on that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance (then) avail him? He will say: "Alas! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my life!" So on that Day none will punish as He will punish. And none will bind as He will bind. (It will be said to the pious:) "O (you) the one in (complete) rest and satisfaction! "Come back to your Rabb, well-pleased (yourself) and well-pleasing (unto Him)! "Enter you then among My (honoured) slaves. "And enter you My Paradise!" (Al-Fajr: 21-30) 39 | P a g e And He says, "And whosoever does not rule by whatever Allah has revealed, such are the Zalimun." (Al-Ma'idah: 45) Allah (swt) has clearly stated in Surah al-Araf, verse 51 : That is, people who make their religion as play and amusement, and the life of the world deceived them. So on the Day of Resurrection, We forget them as they forgot their meeting of this Day, and as they always deny our Verses. 40 | P a g e "Soon will the wicked be overtaken by humiliation before Allah, and a severe punishment, for all their plots." (Al-An'am, 6:124) "Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you." (al-Hujarat, 49:13) 41 | P a g e "Allah has promised those of you who have iman and do right actions that He will make them successors in the land as He made those before them successors, and will firmly establish for them their deen with which He is pleased and give them, in place of their fear, security. 'They worship Me, not associating anything with Me.' Any who are kafir after that, such people are deviators." (An-Nur, 24:55) 42 | P a g e And the glad tiding of his Prophet : " " "There will be Prophethood for as long as Allah wills it to be, then He will remove it when He wills, then there will be Khilafah on the Prophetic method and it will be for as long as Allah wills, then He will remove it when He wills, then there will be biting Kingship for as long as Allah Wills, then He will remove it when He wills, then there will be oppressive kingship for as long as Allah wills, then he will remove it when He wills, and then there will be Khilafah upon the Prophetic method" and then he remained silent. (narrated by Ahmad)

"The only statement of the [true] believers when they are called to Allah and His Messenger to judge between them is that they say, "We hear and we obey." And those are the successful." [TMQ An-Nur: 51] "And for Allah that is not difficult." And if they seek help of you for the religion, then you must help.[Al-Anfal: 72] 44 | P a g e

"How indeed! For if they get the upper hand over you, they will respect neither kinship nor treaty. They please you with their mouths but their hearts belie their words. Most of them are deviators." (At Tauba, 9:8) Evil has become rife on the land and at sea because of men's deeds; this in order that He may cause them to have a taste of some of their deeds; perhaps they will turn back (from evil). Surat Ar-Rm (The Romans) - (30:41) 45 | P a g e "Allah will never allow the non-believers to have a way (sabil) over the believers." (An-Nisa: 141) "And prepare against them what force you can and horses tied at the frontier, to frighten thereby the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them, whom you do not know (but) Allah knows them; and whatever thing you will spend in Allah's way, it will be paid back to you fully and you shall not be dealt with unjustly." (Anfal: 60) 46 | P a g e "Have you seen those who claim to believe in the revelation revealed to you and the revelation revealed earlier? They seek the ruling of taghoot (non-Islam) although they have been ordered to disbelieve in it." (An-Nisa: 60) 47 | P a g e And never will the Jews or the Christians approve of you until you follow their religion. Say, "Indeed, the guidance of Allah is the [only] guidance." If you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, you would have against Allah no protector or helper. Al-Baqarah (2:120) O you who have believed, enter into Islam completely [and perfectly] and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy. Al-Baqarah (2:208) 48 | P a g e * "They will say on the Day their faces are rolled over in the Fire, 'If only we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger!' And they will say, 'Our Lord, we obeyed our masters and great men and they misguided us from the Way." (Al-Ahzab, 33:66-67) "They would like you to be kafir as they are kafir so that you will all be the same." (An-Nisa, 4:89) 49 | P a g e Almighty Allah says: "Those who persecute men and women of the believers, and then do not make tawba, will have the punishment of Hell, will have the punishment of the Burning." (Al-Burooj, 10)
