    Introduction

    1. Introduction

    Dear Customer,

we are pleased to welcome you to the user group of our ARISTOMAThigh speed cutters. The new digital cutting machines ARISTOMAT were

developed specifically in response to the growing demand for more

employed processing machines for automated volume production: a work

surface which is accessible from all sides, extremely robust

crossbar with minimal overhang at the sides, strong AC-servomotors

and flawless vacuum technique with matrix zones.

The intuitive CutterControlPanel  Software provides completely new

possibilities of user handling. The user has all information on cutting

data on the PC-screen and controls all processing functions

comfortably by mouse-click. Essential functions such as manual control

or setting of origin can be carried out from any point of the cutter by means

    of a mobile control pad.

    Safety Instructions

    3. Safety Instructions

    General

In accordance with observed current safety guidelines, the ARISTOMAT

is classified as a production machine for use in an industrial environ-

    ment.

Nevertheless, danger can arise when safety instructions are not

observed and kept to during operation, or when the machine is not used

    in compliance with its purpose.

In order to avoid injuries to personnel or damages to the plotter the follow-

ing safety rules must be observed at all times. The following safety rules

are complemented by special safety and danger notes in the individualhandbooks of the tool heads.

    Proper use

The proper use of the cutter and the observance of the safety

regulations are basic prerequisite for its safe operation.

The cutter is intended for processing of materials arranged on the

cutter table. The supplied equipment determines the possible uses of

    the cutter.

Any other use which does not meet this description shall be classed

as improper use. The operator is solely liable for any damage resulting

    from improper use !

    Improper use

Improper use of the machine can:

    • Cause injury

    • Result in serious damage to the machine

    • Lead to loss of warranty

Improper use of the machine includes, among other things:

    • deliberate or careless interference with the machine during operation

    • non-compliance of safety instructions

    • use of tools not permitted by the manufacturer

    • processing of non-permitted materials for this machine

    • installation of foreign appliances at the plotter system without written

    permission from the manufacturer

    • non-compliance of the service intervals as recommended bythe manufacturer

understood the Users Manual for the ARISTOMAT and its options.

    • Every person who operate the plotter system mus be over the age of 16.

    • Trainees shall only operate the machine under supervision of an

    experienced operator.

    Procedure in case of malfunctions

    • Any troubleshooting work or inspection on the cutter is to be carried out

only when it is switched OFF or in OFF-line mode.

    • Safety Devices (light barriers, collision Shut-off, EMERGENCY OFF

buttons in the plotter system) may not be bridged or put out of

    operation under any circumstances.

    • If malfunctions cannot be remedied by the operators using simple

measures, a authorized service technician must be informed.

    Occupational safety

The local regulations regarding safety at work and accident preventionmust always be observed for the operation of the cutter systems.

    • Safety settings must be checked as to their functional readiness.

The plotter may not be put into operation if faults in the functions arise.

    • The ARISTOMAT, tool heads and accessories shall only be put in

operation when in faultless condit ion and shall only be used as delivered

    from the factory.

    • Covers serve safety purposes. Do not operate the ARISTOMAT, tool

    heads and/or accessories without covers.

Unauthorized modifications or alterations to the machine that couldaffect safety are prohibited.

    • Installation, start up, maintenance, and repair of the machine may only
