PIGGING WITH CONVENTIONAL BARRELSConventional launching and receiving of pigs using barrels and traps is costly and complicated. Additional lines andshut-off valves are required for the by-pass line, launcher and receiver. Installation and operation of this set up istime consuming.
PIGGING WITH THE ARGUS PIG VALVEWith the Argus Pig Valve, much of the above noted equipment is eliminated. Launching and receiving pigs is simplydone with the use of a single valve at each location.

Switch to Argus!
Standard, Simple, and Reliable The Argus Pressure Switch has set the standard with a design that
provides unsurpassed durability and reliability.
Consider these features:
Microswitch trip mechanism makes field replacement
convenient.
Pressure sensing capsule utilizes an Inconel
diaphragm to withstand sour and corrosive media in
oil, gas and steam applications. All parts in contact with
the media meet the requirements of NACE MR0175.
Accurately responsive to working pressures ranging
from a minimum of 20 PSI (138 kPa) to a maximum
of 5000 PSI (34,470 kPa). All Argus switches are
proof-tested to 7500 PSI (51,710 kPa) and will sustain
rupture tests up to 20,000 PSI (137,900 kPa).
Functionally simple, yet versatileeach pressure spring
covers a wide range, with only a few variations required
to cover the full spectrum of pressure settings.
Tested over 1,000,000 cycles.
All models use the same trim to prevent misapplication
in the field.
Rugged design prevents the need for resetting after
installation.
External trip point adjustmentno need to remove the
switch housing cap.
Automatic or manual reset models available.
Optional vibration lock for severe, shock, or vibrating
service.
Bears the CSA NRTL/C mark, signifying that it is
certified for use in Canada and the United States.
Upon request all models are available with factory-
installed wiring harnesses.
All main components are manufactured from rolled bar
and sheet stock.

The Argus PIV allows you to calibrate your safety equipment or perform maintenance without shutting in the line. In the open
position you have pressure gauge indication and process control. Close it and safely calibrate your Argus Pressure Switch or
Argus Pressure Pilot with ease. Once your maintenance is complete, simply return to the open position and youre back on line.
Its that easy!
The one-piece A350-LF2 body construction and NACE trim will handle the full spectrum of service conditions and temperature
ranges. Designed to provide safe, economical isolation from flowing product in crude oil, natural gas and condensate flow lines.

Argus Self-Contained Hydraulic Pump Module (HPM)
For dependable zero emission shutdown in local or remote locations, use the Argus Self-Contained Hydraulic PumpModule for Emergency Shutdown Systems. Designed with environmental preservation in mind, this system does notrequire an external source of power and is adaptable for use with either quarter turn or linear actuators.
Consider these Features: Simplified Control Circuit designed for use with the Argus Two-Line Pressure Pilot. Modular Design all functioning components are manifold mounted outside of the reservoir, to simplify
maintenance and reduce downtime. Single Pressure System eliminates the need for low pressure regulators and relief valves on the control circuit. Sealed System pressure vacuum breather combats the formation of condensation in the fluid reservoir. Manual Override is standard for quick shutdowns. Non-Foaming Hydraulics deflector fitting prevents entrapment of air in the hydraulic oil. Filtered Hydraulics filter elements strategically placed throughout the system assist in preventing damage to
system components. Coated Components to combat corrosion. Enhanced Safety The use of an optional closed circuit fusible plug with our system returns fluid directly to the
reservoir (rather than to atmosphere) in the event of a fire.

Operating Procedures:
To start up the ESD system, lift the arming lever on the Latching Trip Valve.
Operate the hydraulic hand pump to open the flow-line valve.
If the flow-line pressure does not come within the high and low set points of the Pressure Pilot, oil flowing through
the Bias Restrictor will slowly allow the ESD valve to close.
If the flow-line pressure does come within the high and low set points of the Pressure Pilot, oil supplied through
the Bias Restrictor energizes the Latching Trip Valve. When the Latching Trip Valve is energized the arming lever
unlatches. The Pressure Pilot takes over control of the ESD system automatically.

Argus Hydraulic Pressure Pilot
Argus has taken the next step in providing you with a superior product. By incorporating the sensing
capsule design of the Argus Pressure Switch, which has been field proven for a number of years, we now
offer you this same technology in the Argus Pressure Pilot.
Consider these features:
Simplifies Control Circuits Designed for use with the Argus Self-Contained Hydraulic Pump
Module. Controls a maximum circuit pressure of 1500 PSI (10,342 kPa), utilizing the same
hydraulic pressure as the actuator.
Utilizes an Inconel pressure sensing capsule (patented) to withstand sour and corrosive
media in oil and gas applications from 50F (-46C) to plus 250F (+121C). All parts in
contact with the media meet the requirements of NACE MR0175.
Functionally simple, yet versatile, - each pressure spring covers a wide range, with only a few
variations required to cover the full spectrum of pressure settings.
Accurately responsive to working pressures ranging from a minimum of 20 PSI (138 kPa) to a
maximum of 5000 PSI (13,789 kPa). All Argus Pilots are proof-tested to ensure seal integrity.
All models use the same trim to prevent misapplication in the field.
All main components are manufactured from rolled bar and sheet stock.
Rugged design prevents the need for resetting after installation.
Easily adjustable set points. Separate springs for high and low pressure.
Exceeding set point pressure will not alter the set point calibration.
No brass or bronze components.
