Purpose: To convince UUM students that watching TV has more advantages than

disadvantages.

STEP 2 Your pro-arguments: (Advantages) 1. TV is a source of information 2. TV is a source of entertainment

STEP 3 Your counter argument: (Disadvantages) 1. Watching TV is a waste of time.

STEP 4 Your refutation/rebuttal: Even though most people believe that watching TV is a waste of time, it is actually not true. Through watching TV, we can get a lot of advantages if we choose the right programs and channels.

Thesis statement: Even though most people think that watching TV is really not advantageous, I strongly believe that watching TV has more advantages than disadvantages because TV is a source of information and TV is a source of entertainment. However, it is undeniable that watching TV sometimes can be a waste of time.
