Are You Ready for 4-H CAMP? Hey, CAMPERS!

Summer will be here soon and it is time to sign up for 4-H camp. Here’s the scoop!

WHEN: May 30—June 2, 2017

WHERE: North Central 4-H Camp in Carlisle, KY (Nicholas County). We will

leave from the Carter Extension Office at approximately 9:00 on Monday and

return around 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.

WHO: Any Car ter County child between the ages of 9 and 14 can attend 4-H camp.

COST: $150 *** Save $10 when you pay and turn in all registration forms by April 21st.***

4-H camp scholarships are awarded based on 4-H participation and civic engage-

ment. To apply for the scholarship, complete the 4-H Camp Scholarship application.

ALL applications require a $20.00 deposit. Deadline for all official registration

packets will be May 1st. (After you return this application a more detailed camp

registration packet will be sent to you.) Spots are limited and will be filled on a first

come basis. No deposits will be returned for cancellations after May 8th. Campers

who’s paper work is not turned in by May 1st, may not be permitted to attend camp.

OTHER THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT 4-H CAMP:

Details of what to bring, camp rules, and all the forms to be filled out will be mailed to everyone who

registers. The contents of the registration packet must be re-

turned by May1st. Late camp applications may not be accept-

ed.

The $20 camp deposit will hold your spot until May 1st. After

May 1st, if all fees and registration forms have not been re-

turned your spot will be given to the next person on the list.

Carter County will be camping with Greenup, Boyd, and Bath

Counties this year.

All four Kentucky 4-H camp locations are American Camp

Association Accredited.

Adult volunteers are needed to help with 4-H camp. If you

would be willing to attend 4-H camp please contact the Carter

County Extension Office. All volunteers must be screened

through the Client Protection standards, which includes back-

ground and reference checks.

High school 4-H members who are interested in attending 4-H Summer Camp as counselors should con-

tact the Extension Office for an application. Camp counselor applications are due by March 10th. Camp

Counselor interviews will be held on March 28th at the Extension Office.
