South Africans, dual citizenship is possible and recognized by both

countries, the UK and South Africa.

UK Ancestry for South Africanmen and women can be gained if that

South African applicant's grandparents were born in the UnitedKingdom. They have the option to claim, apply and receive Ancestral

birth rights. This kind of birth right allows South Africans multiply-

entry to the United Kingdom that lasts for half a decade (5 years).

After that 5 years, they may apply to get further extension.

They can then nationalize as British nationals, provided that they

provide sufficient intent to live in the United Kingdom permanently.

pass on their British citizenship to her offspring.

For those children whose parents were not married at the time of

their birth, the UKBA states:

If the parents were not married when the child was born, but then get

been one from birth) if the father was a British citizen (or settled) when

There are a number of categories of a British national. British citizen,

British subject, British Overseas citizen, are among the kinds. Each

category has limitations and benefits.

For example, a British Overseas citizen may not have an automatic

right to live in the United Kingdom. However, being a British Overseas

citizen enables the applicant to undergo a much easier and simpler

BOCs are those men and women who have a connection with a

January 1983.

When it comes to dual citizenship, Kenya only permits the nationality

for minors. At the age of majority, Kenyan citizens must renounce allother nationalities. Minors will lose their Kenyan citizenship during

the age of 21 if they do not renounce their British nationality (BOC)

status.

These BOCs will be de-facto stateless should they reach the age of

majority after July 4 2002, because they cannot receive benefits from

the 2002 Act.

citizenship in 1996. I think this makes me qualified to gain dual
