    THE BUMBLEBEE

    Bumblebees typical ly nest in the

    ground, but they can also be seen near

    your patio or deck. In some cases,

    theyl l bui ld nests in att ics or under

    roof beams.

    If you become a threat to abumblebee, they begin to buzz at a

    louder volume. They get quite

    aggressive when they think their nests

    are in danger.

    They have six legs and are black with

    yellow stripes. The best way to prevent

    themselves and their young.

    They tend to prefer bare wood,

    Honeybees are responsible for

    pol l inating many crops in the US. They

    are the most recognizable type of bee.

    Golden with yellow brown bands, they

    wil l bui ld natural nests in the crevices

    of trees, but some have found nests in

    mi le i f they become aggressive .

    numbers.

    Like some other species, they can only st ing once

    escape.

    If you are stung by a bee,

    check to see if a st inger has

    been left behind. I f so, gently

    scrape it out of the skin. Bug

    do not pul l i t . Use your

    fingernai l or a credit card to

    scrape it out, then wash the

    area with soap & water.

    Apply a cold pack for a few

    minutes, then take

    acetaminophen to help

    control the pain.

    Watch for signs of an al lergic

    reaction, which could include

    diff iculty breathing, larger

    areas of swell ing, or even

    fainting.
