ARDENCOTE GOLF LOCAL RULES

1 Out of Bounds (Rule 18.2)Out of bounds is defined by the line between the course-side points at ground level of white stakes and fence posts defining the boundary of the course. Out of bounds is also defined by: •On or beyond the access road to the left of the 1st and 8th holes •On or beyond the path adjacent to the Hotel complex, the tennis courts and the Greenkeepers’ compound2 Penalty Areas (Rule 17) Penalty areas are indicated by Red and Yellow stakes. If a ball is in the yellow penalty area on the 6th and 9th holes, including when it is known or virtually certain that a ball that has not been found came to rest in the penalty area, the player has these relief options, each for one penalty stroke: •Take relief under Rule 17.1 or •As an extra option, drop the original ball or another ball in the dropping zone; •6th Hole – the area indicated to the left of the 6th Tee •9th Hole- the 9th Red teeThe Dropping Zone is a Relief Area under Rule 14.33 No Play Zones (16.1f and 17.1e)The following areas are defined as No Play Zones: •The Wedding Islands within the Lake •Red Penalty Area to the left of the 10th Hole the edge of the penalty area is defined by the line between the stakes at ground level and the stakes inside the penalty area, relief must be taken under Rule 17.1 for one penalty stroke. •Young trees identified by stakes or wrappings are no play zones. If a player’s ball lies anywhere on the course other than in a penalty area and it lies on or touches such a tree or such a tree interferes with the player’s stance or area of intended swing, the player must take relief under Rule 16.1f. 4 Ball deflected by Power line and Poles If it is known or virtually certain that a player’s ball hit a power line or a wire or pole supporting a power line during play, the stroke does not count. The player must play a ball without penalty from where the previous stroke was made (see Rule 14.6 for what to do).5 Immovable Obstructions Close to Putting Green •Relief from interference by an immovable obstruction may be taken under Rule 16.1. •Immovable obstructions close to putting green: In addition to the types of interference described in Rule 16.1a, when a ball lies in the general area, interference also exists if an immovable obstruction is on the player’s line of play, is within two club-lengths of the putting green, and is within two club-lengths of the ball. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b. (Exception – There is no relief under this Local Rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable.)Penalty for breach of Local Rule is the General Penalty ( 2 strokes)

Please replace all divots and repair all pitch marks

Game to be played in accordance with the Rules & Etiquette of the R&A

All players must have their own Golf Bags & Clubs - Clubs & Trolleys available to hire from Leisure/Golf Reception
