SAN option

Enables backup servers to share one or more tape libraries within the Storage Area Network (SAN)

Backup server sends data to the tape libraries over the SAN instead of the LAN, which increases backup & restore throughput

The primary SAN server is responsible for: -

- Initializing, governing and maintaining shared devices on the SAN

- Coordinating the use of shared library resources among the servers in the SAN, preventing conflict if two servers try to allocate a device or media at the same time
