KIEV DISTRICTyear:2012location: Kiev, area near Dnieper

The task was to design a district for 2000 peopleon the area near the river Dnepr. The appartment block housesare designed for 1600 , but there are also individual houses and blocked individual houses as Kiev still offers much space for urban planning and therefore does not need verticaldevelopment like in other cities. The design of the whole district is inspired by national cultural motives and the highlight of thedistrict is inspired by national cultural motives and the highlight of thedistrict is an entertainment centre in a form of a painted egg - a ukrainian national symbol. Private houses also remind of ukrainian traditional countryside houses.

The design of the entertainment centreis inspired by a national ukrainian symbol - the"Pysanka" which is a painted egg. Sucheggs are still popular as an Easter symbol and they are considered being real masterpieces of artof art

As it was written before , the design of private housesalso follows national art motives.Traditional Ukrainian village houses were built of clay andthe roof was of straw.. Of course ,the project contains houses madethe project contains houses madeof modern materials but it keeps ecological design and original stylefeatures.

The design of appartment block buildings is inspired by the ukrainian national costumesornaments as well as traditional colours like red and white.

Page 13: Architecture student portfolio

The aim of the project was to create not only an appartment building but also to add some public space inside . NowadaysKyiv appartment houses don't have a huge territory around, so many public facilities are missing and to get them, peoplespend much time going to the other disctricts spend much time going to the other disctricts which is always a problem when you live in a big city. Therefore to make life more comfortable this building contains three public floors whichare clearly separated by the design. They include asports hall, cabinets for arts (sculpture, painting) and cabinets for music. There are also lounge areas for communicationlounge areas for communicationThe first two floors include some shops and offices. You can see no parking near the building because it's done under the earthto decrease pollution and create more spacefor green zones. The design of the building is made to fit in theenvironment, trying at the same time to be moreenvironment, trying at the same time to be moremodern and to create some interesting view.

SCHOOL lOCATION : KievYEAR: 2012

This is the project of a primary and secondary school together. The goal of the project was to create an eco-friendly building that's why wod was used as the main building material. The school has two floors. The territory of building has a relief which is noticeably decreasing , therefore the plan of the school looks like a sqauare with a hole inside , this hole is exactly the place where the relief decreases and this allows to form a courtyard for puplils using changes in height. There are three rooms, which differ by their volume from the auditoriums such as the sports hall, theassembly hall and the recreation hall. They are accentuated by a specific construction - wooden arches with a changing cross section . The entrances to the building are undeerlinedhall, theassembly hall and the recreation hall. ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE

YEAR: 2013LOCATION: Kiev

This is a project of an entertainment centre with sports facilities..It is situated in a pretty park near the river Dnieper. The centre has a big atrium hall , so that people have the possibility to enter from different entrances and to head to diverse entertainment rooms. There is a rampantembracing the building to make the first floor accesible from the ground floor by using the rampant. The rampant leads to the roof where a pavilion cafe is situated and the other part of the rampant leads the client to from the first floor to the ground in the direction of the Dnieper. The rampant is designed with circles through which vegetation like flowers and small trees grow. The center of the atrium hall is characterised by a fountain around a metal construction leading through the whole building to arouse the interestThe center of the atrium hall is characterised by a fountain around a metal construction leading through the whole building to arouse the interestof the costumers

The scheme of form creating

As a startpoint for form designing the easiest shape such as a boxwas chosen. Then , after surching for the bestfunctional organisation hole appearedinside, which was then turned into atrium. atrium. Such plan organisation is comfortableas it allows to avoid the usage of long corridors which would be otherwise unevitable. It also allows to make a big hall for lobby. The next step was to divide the building into rooms, but as it is building into rooms, but as it is situated in the park with view on river it was clear to try to make asbig "view zone " as possible. So the outer perimeter was transformed to enable a wider view. Then , inner space was transformed to fit to the outer line of the walls. to fit to the outer line of the walls.
