    1 GENERAL

    1.1 Section Includes

    Particular specifications, material selection and General Provisions of theContract, including General Conditions, Conditions of Particular Application andSpecification Sections, apply to different Architectural elements work and

    execution.

    1.2 Description of Work

    This section covers the special components of the following items:1.2.1 Gym and sports hall1.2.2 Sauna and steam1.2.3 Ceramic tiles.

    1.3 Reference and Standards

    Work in this section shall be performed in strict accordance with the stipulationsof the British Standard Specifications (BS) latest edition, the specifications ofthe American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) or other equivalent

    International Standards and sound practice. All subject to full compatibilitybetween systems.

    1.4 Submittals

    Submit the following in accordance with Shop Drawings, Product Data &Samples Submittals:

    1.4.1 Product data for each type of details, materials, dimensions, profiles,finishes and general recommendations.

    1.4.2 Shop drawings showing plans, elevation, sections large-scale detailsindicating profiles of each element, all in accordance with relatedmaterial specifications.

    1.4.4 Provide samples of materials and finishes for approval by COMPANY.

    1.5 Quality Assurance

    1.5.1 Manufacturer's Instructions: In addition to the requirements ofSpecifications comply with manufacturer's instructions andrecommendations for all phases of work, including preparation ofsubstrate, applying materials and protection of installed units.

    1.5.2 Installers Experience: Work of this Section will be carried out by aninstaller having a minimum of five (5) years experience in performing suchworks.

    1.5.3 Panel tolerances for squash court panels shall comply with tolerances aspublished by the World Squash Federation (WSF).

    1.6 Extended WarrantyWithout depraving COMPANY of their rights under the provisions of theContract, the Contractor warrant and agree to repair or replace the expansion

    joint that does not meet requirements or does not remain watertight during aperiod of ten (10) years after the date of subtended completion.Installation workmanship and wood floor system is warranted for a period ofone year from date of installation.

    1.8 Delivery, Storage and Handling

    1.8.1 All materials shall be kept under cover and free from dampness andextreme temperature.

    1.8.2 Deliver and store all components in such a way to prevent damage to

    them.

    1.8.3 No materials shall be delivered to the jobsite until building is

    completely enclosed and weather tight.1.8.4 Unloading and stocking materials into the court area to be the

    responsibility of the main CONTRACTOR unless otherwise arranged.1.8.5 It is CONTRACTORs responsibility that proper humidity and

    temperature be maintained in the court area. Therefore, thepermanent HVAC shall be in operation and maintaining court areatemperature between 26 degrees and 40%-60% humidity prior to and

    continuously after installation.1.8.6 All finishes should never be subjected to direct sunlight, rain, or widevariations of ambient conditions.

    1.8.7 Proper store for materials should be maintained by stacking in aclean, dry, storage area.

    1.8.8 Material shall be stacked flat and delivered on skids. After delivery,materials shall have banding and wrap removed to allow panels toacclimate to room conditions.

    1.8.9 Material not properly protected and stored and which is defaced ordamaged shall be rejected.

    1.9 Document Precedence

    It shall be the CONTRACTORS responsibility to be, or to become, knowledgeable ofthe requirements of the referenced Codes and Standards.

    The CONTRACTOR shall notify the COMPANY of any apparent conflict between thisspecification, the related data sheets, the Codes and Standards and any otherSpecifications noted herein. Resolution and/or interpretation precedence shall beobtained from the COMPANY in writing before proceeding with the shopdrawings/manufacture.

    In case of conflict, most stringent criteria shall apply.

    Requirements as specified in MANUFACTURERS instructions shall be followedwhere applicable.

    1.10 Mock-up

    1.10.1 Provide a mock-up where designated by COMPANY.

    1.10.2 Retain mock-up until completion of the work. Approved mock-upsshall serve as a standard for similar work throughout the buildings.

    2 PRODUCTS

    2.1 Gymnasium Flooring

    Finishes of floor shall be full Polyurethane System (7mm thick), a resilientpolyurethane flooring system, which consist of 5mm thick base sealed withpolyurethane layer. The top-coat is installed consisting of 2mm thick self-levelling

    polyurethane with matt coat finish. Game line is finally applied onto the polyurethaneflooring when cured. This system is supplied in a variety of colours as shown on thedrawings.

    2.2 Ceramic

    2.7.1 General

    CONTRACTOR shall provide data sheets & samples for all Ceramic tiles, asshown on Architectural Design Package.

    All tiles sizing & materials shall be compatible with Design Drawings &Specifications.

    For tiles faces CONTRACTOR shall follow the table below:
