Arbor Greene’s Semi-Annual Garage Sale
It’s that time again to break out the things that we don’t use or need anymore.
Arbor Greene’s Bi-Annual Garage Sale will be held on October 16th, from
8AM-12 Noon.
Planning to sell items this year? Here are a few helpful ideas to sell your good-
ies:
- Place big ticket items next to the street, such as strollers and furniture.
- Arrange tables so items are neatly displayed to allow people to inspect them.
- Keep all books and CDs with spines showing.
- Have an electrical outlet or extension cord available so that people can test
electronic products.
Or are you planning on buying treasures? Here are a few suggestions for buyers:
- Plan a route and start early. Early birds get the worm.
- Wear sensible walking shoes.
- Make sure you bring smaller bills, in case the seller doesn't have change.
- Clean out your car so you have enough space for hauling your purchases. Oh, if you like to haggle, don’t drive up
in a luxury car. Sellers probably won’t be as compromising.
Donate Unsold Yard Sale Items and Help Change Lives
Wondering what to do with items that don't sell during the Community garage sale? Donate them to Goodwill!!
The Goodwill trailer will be located near the Community Center on Arbor Creek Drive near the tennis courts on
Saturday, October 16th, from 9AM - 4PM to accept your donations. Goodwill will provide a receipt for tax pur-
poses.
You can also drop off donations at the Goodwill Wesley Chapel Store off of SR-56 and I-75. If you have ques-
tions, please call Goodwill at 888-279-1988 x 1440. Your donations of clothing and household items support
Goodwill's services for people who are disabled, elderly or unemployed. Thank you in advance, your donations are
changing lives.
Household chemicals, paint etc. may be taken to the Hillsborough County Collection site on the first three Satur-
days of each month. For more information and location, call the Solid Waste Management Division at 272-5680.

Arbor Greene Landscape Maintenance
Schedule for October:
October 4 – 9 Mow pond banks; apply herbicide for
weeds in turf control.
October 11 – 16 Fertilize turf, fertilize shrubs.
October 18 – 23 Mow pond banks; apply insecticide on
turf and shrubs.
October 25 – 30 Fertilize seasonal color, spray round up
herbicide in planter beds.
**An ID tag or Guest Pass is required to use the Com-
munity Center Facilities. An adult 18 years of age or
older must escort anyone under 16 to the fitness &
weight rooms. All users must be at least 14 years of
age and have an ID tag. All Guests using the Fitness
and Weight Rooms must have a guest pass that must
be obtained in advance of the day of use.**

The Arbor Greene Book Club will meet October 11th at
7PM and on the Mondays listed below, in the Gathering
Room. Please join us for discussion of the listed books.

Message from the Arbor Greene HOA
Florida Friendly Landscape -The HOA has incorpo-
rated Florida Friendly landscape and sod options into
our Design Review Guidelines. The full amended
guideline will be posted on the Arbor Greene website.
Previously, 20% of the lot was required to be land-
scaped and now up to 40% will be allowed. Rain barrels
and composting (non-food waste only) options are now
available.
All changes in landscaping or grass or the addition of
rain barrels and composts must be submitted to the De-
sign Review Board via an Alteration Application, and
approved before any work is begun. Failure to comply
may result in fines or legal action.
Behr Paints - The HOA has been updating the exterior
paint color choices for homes. Behr paints will be offer-
ing Arbor Greene residents 20% off paint products pur-
chased at Home Depot. A sample paint book will be
available with acceptable paint colors for homeowners
to view before choosing a color palette for their home.
By the beginning of October, the book will be available
in Home Depot and at the Arbor Greene Community
Center Office. Homeowners are not obligated to use
Behr paint products, but are welcome to view the sam-
ple book before choosing a color for their home.
Satellite Dishes/Antennas - According to the Arbor
Greene Design Review Guidelines, satellite dishes and
antennas are not permitted unless size and location are
approved by the Design Review Board. There are many
homeowners who have installed unapproved satellite
dishes in the front landscape beds of their home or on
their homes in view of the street and neighbors. If you
are making any changes to the exterior of your home, an
Alteration Application must be submitted with five (5)
additional copies and received by Ameri-Tech one week
prior to the scheduled meeting date or it may be de-
ferred to the following month’s meeting. All of the
HOA and Design Review guidelines are posted online

New Club and Fitness Pool Hours!!
To accommodate you early birds out there, Arbor
Greene has changed it’s operating hours.
Effective August 24, 2010, the Community Center
and Fitness Pool will be opened at 5:30AM, Mon-
day through Fridays.
TBAY will be using two lanes in the Fitness Pool
on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:30-
7AM for swim practice. Four lanes will be avail-
able for residents. Residents in all lanes after 7AM.

Handbill Laws and No Solicitation
Arbor Greene is a “No Solicitation” Community. Call Tampa Police at 231-6130
when you observe a person depositing handbills on private property (home, vehi-
cles or mailboxes).
Section 6-171: Handbill Distribution on Private Property
A. It is unlawful for any individual to deliver, distribute or place, or attempt to
deliver, distribute or place handbills on private property upon which is
posted a reasonably conspicuous sign reading “No Advertising “ or “ No Solicitation”.
B. It is unlawful for any business advertising by means of handbills to direct, encourage or allow any
individual, employee or independent contractor distributing handbills on behalf of the business to
deliver, distribute or place handbills on private property upon which is posted a reasonably con-
spicuous sign reading “No Advertising” or “No Solicitation”.
C. Any violation shall be punished as provided in Tampa Code Section 1-6.
Section 6-172: Handbill Distribution on Vehicles
A. It is unlawful for any individual to place, throw, deposit, drop off any handbill onto any motor
vehicle, or occupant thereof, in operation or momentarily stopped on any public street within the
city, or stopped standing or parked in any parking space on any city owned or operated parking lot,
garage or other property.
B. Any violation shall be punished as provided in Tampa Code Section 1-6.
The Gate House Number Change
The Arbor Greene CDD Gate House phone number will
change and will no longer be available to callers effec-
tive October 1st.
The gate attendants’ functions are to greet and account
for visitors entering the community. With an average of
over 800 visitors per day entering the community, an-
swering the telephone from callers with questions not
related to their primary duties is disruptive and slows
the processing of visitors into the community.
Residents expecting visitors or guests between 10PM
and 6AM should provide a written list to the gate atten-
dant containing the names of their guests and their ex-
pected arrival time. The list may be delivered to the gate
house or submitted on-line using the CDD Online Con-
tact Request Form and “select” Contact CDD on the Ar-
bor Greene website at www.ArborGreene.org. The
guest information is required if the resident does not
want to receive a call from the gate attendant to obtain
permission for the guests to enter the community during
the hours above. The on-line form must be submitted
prior to 3:30PM on the day of and prior to the arrival of
the visitors.

Tips
Here are some tips to en-
sure the safety of your
children:
1. Be sure younger chil-
dren are accompanied by
a trusted adult when
Trick-or-Treating. Walk
with your head up and be
aware of your surroundings.
2. Accompany younger children to the door of every
house you approach and make sure parents and guardi-
ans are familiar with every home and all people from
which the children receive treats.
3. Teach children to never enter a home without prior
permission from their parents/guardians.
4. Teach children to never approach a vehicle, occupied
or not, unless they know the owner and are accompa-
nied by a parent or guardian. Don't approach unfamiliar
pets and animals.
5. Make sure all children wear reflective clothing and
carry a glow stick when out at dusk and at night. Carry a
flashlight with fresh batteries after dark.
6. Make sure children are able to see and breathe prop-
erly and easily when using facial masks. All costumes
and masks should be clearly marked as flame resistant.
7. Teach children to never approach a home that is not
well lit both inside and outside.
8. Teach children to stay alert and remember any suspi-
cious incidents and report them to their parents, guardi-
ans, and/or the proper authority.
9. Teach children if anyone tries to grab them to make a
scene; loudly yell this person is not my father /mother;
and make every effort to get away by kicking, scream-
ing, and resisting.
10. Stay on the sidewalks and out of the streets. Cross
only at intersections. Walk. Do not run!
11. Respect other people and their property. Don't cut
across yards and stay out of back yards. Don't trample
through flower beds and gardens.
12. Always watch for cars backing up or turning.
13. Don't eat any candy until it's inspected under bright
lights, for tampering.
14. Be polite and say "thank you."

from the resident for the guest(s) to enter the community.
If the guest(s) does not have the resident’s telephone
number, or has an incorrect number, or the resident does
not answer the call, the visitor will be denied entry into
the community. Residents will not be notified of guest(s)
entering the community between 6AM and 10PM.
Residents with an emergency should call 911.
If you see suspicious activity in the community or to re-
port a non-life threatening crime, please call the Tampa
Police non-emergency number 231-6130.
For other situations, such as lost or found pets, street
lights out, gates not working, etc., please contact the
Club Office during regular office hours at 991-9741.

Conservation Areas
Conservation areas will be preserved and protected in their natural state,
although some intrusions will be allowed as expressly set forth in this para-
graph.
Within these areas, no person shall:
- Construct buildings or structures associated with dwelling units.
- Remove plants or animals from these areas or plant plants or release ani-
mals into these areas except with permission of the Declarant or the CDD.
- Remove water from the wetlands, lakes or surficial aquifer without per-
mission of the Board and, in no event, in amounts that would alter the es-
sential character of these areas.
- Use pesticides or fertilizers.
- Undertake any activity which would disrupt or harm the plants, animals and natural ecosystems in these areas.
- Undertake other activities, except as expressly allowed below.
Within these areas, the following minimal activities are allowed:
- Encroachment from drainage systems, or similar activities which will not impact the continued viability of these
areas will be allowed.
- Movement through these areas in non-organized public recreation activities.
- Planting of native species to enhance the natural systems or wildlife value.
- Use of these areas in a sensitive fashion as a living laboratory for environ-
mental education and for monitoring and testing to protect their natural attrib-
utes.
- A bicycle path within certain portions of the Conservation Areas.
Residents please follow the guidelines above. Lawn debris found in the Conser-
vation Areas is a violation of the CDD Water Use Permit from SWFWMD. The
CDD can receive substantial fines from SWFWMD for not maintaining the con-
servation areas in their natural state.
Do not permit your landscape company to dispose of lawn debris or tree
branches in the Conservation areas or water bodies. Please instruct them to mow
your grass so that the grass is not blown into the water.

A Message from the Neighborhood Watch Directors
According to the Federal Trade Commission, identity theft is the fastest growing crime in America. Identity
theft occurs when a person uses your name, address, Social Security number (SSN), bank or credit card ac-
count number or other personal information without your permission to commit fraud or other crimes.
Criminals may open a fraudulent bank account, make purchases on your existing credit cards, use your good credit
to secure loans, use your name and background information to get a job, and use your name during an arrest and
when they fail to appear for a court date, an arrest warrant may be issued in your name. They may also change your
billing address and order new ATM, debit, or credit cards. Since you will not receive the bills, you are unlikely to
notice the problem for some time.
Criminals steal your information in a variety of ways: Taking your wallet; going through your trash and remov-
ing unshredded credit card and loan applications or documents which contain your SSN, birth date or phone num-
ber; stealing newly issued credit cards, utility bills, insurance statements, etc. from unsecured mailboxes; complet-
ing a change of address form to divert your mail to another location; placing malicious software on your computer
which can steal your user IDs and passwords, sending e-mail messages pretending to be a legitimate business and
requesting your personal data etc. Crooks continually change the ways they steal information.
Nothing can guarantee protection against identity theft in all circumstances. However, you can reduce your
risk by attempting to control your personal information. Decrease access to your personal data: secure your wal-
let while at work or at public places like a gym; store your SSN and birth certificates in a safe location such as a
bank deposit box; avoid giving out personal data over the Internet or phone; on your computer, update your fire-
walls and install anti-virus software that checks for spyware; buy a cross-cut shredder; do not display your full name
in the phone book and consider an unlisted number; do not have unnecessary personal data such as SSN or driver’s
license numbers printed on your checks; etc.

School Bus Etiquette
Unfortunately, as the
school year starts, we
fall back into our old
habits at the school
bus pick-up points.
We’ve all seen the
lines of cars parked
with parents and kid-
dies waiting for the
bus, blocking traffic
and making exit from and entry to some communities
(the Landing and now the Estuary and Enclave) dif-
ficult, if not impossible for other residents. It is against
the law, (besides being extremely dangerous), to park
in a way that impedes normal traffic flow. The Tampa
Police Department has been notified of the situation and
will stop by from time to time. Warnings may not be
given. So, ask yourself: am I really going to park here
and block the road today, and possibly get a ticket? Or,
maybe I should walk them to the bus stop; it’s beautiful
out and it’s great exercise? Parents: Do not stop on
road right of ways to pick up your child/children.
Use the Community Center parking lot.

If your identity is stolen, you can attempt to reduce the harm to your name, finances and credit history if you
detect it early. To help detect identity theft, carefully review your bank, credit card, and other financial accounts
and report anything which appears suspicious. Order your credit report at least once a year and review it carefully.
You can receive a free credit report annually from one of the three credit reporting agencies – Experian, TransUn-
ion, or Equifax; scrutinize the report in detail. Examine your mail for signs of identity theft, e.g., receipt of credit
cards you did not apply for, missing financial account statements, etc.
If you determine you are a victim of identity theft, immediately report it to the Tampa Police Department.
Report it to your bank, creditors, and financial institutions, including asking them to put “fraud alerts” on ac-
counts which have not been compromised and request them to not change your billing address without your written
notification and verification. Establish all new passwords on all accounts. Close accounts which have been used
fraudulently. Cancel your ATM/debit card if it has been stolen. By letter and phone, tell credit reporting agencies
you are a victim of identity theft and ask them to place a “fraud alert” on your credit profile to help stop thieves
from opening accounts in your name. Contact Federal Trade Commission to file a complaint; your data will help
law enforcement agencies in their investigations. Notify your employer if you suspect your payroll and/or retire-
ment records have been compromised. You may also need to contact the Post Office, Social Security Administra-
tion, Driver’s License Bureau, etc. depending on what was stolen or compromised.
These tips are not all inclusive so you will want to thoroughly educate yourself on the ways thieves steal your
identity, how you can help prevent identity theft, and what you should do if it occurs.

The Tennis Court Reservation System is Required for Advanced Reservations. Just go to www.arborgreene.org and follow the link and the instructions to register on the site and you’ll be all set. If you don’t make a
reservation, you can sign up on the reservation sheet at the sun shelter bulletin board at Court #1. You must sign up to use a court. Court
reservations are held for 10 minutes, after that, they become open/available. Children under 14 must be with an adult 18 years or older. ID
tags are required for all residents and members. Residents must accompany all guests without a guest pass. Save Electricity! If no one is
waiting for your court, please turn off the lights.

Mark your calendar for the Club Doubles Championship November 13 & 14. Play will be held Saturday afternoon and all day
Sunday. Teams can be made up of resident/resident or resident/guest. All players entering before November 1st will receive a
tournament T-shirt. Format: All teams start in the championship flight then flow to flights A, B, and C depending if you win or
lose. Refreshments will be served Sunday during the finals. To enter or for questions, contact Alan at 610-7301.
