Evans Foundation as we plant a tree in honor of Arbor Day. Arbor Day was first celebrated in 1872 in Nebraska as a way to encourage people to plant and celebrate trees. Today, the holiday is observed nation-wide. Don’t miss this new beginning at the Canal Market District. Look for sightings of our friend The Lorax. Celebrate Trees on April 30 The Dawes Arboretum is holding its annual Arbor Day Festival, presented by Park National Bank, on April 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come for a fun day filled with learning opportunities including tree climbing, crafts and displays.
