Basically, Lube all moving parts, 1 drop in areas you don't disassemble so it can work its way in, Light Coat onFree Floating parts and a Generous Coat on the High Pressure Parts you disassemble, oh and a light coat onthe hammer face. I assume the idea behind the light coat on the hammer face is the extreme pressureadditives in the lube reduce the wear on the hammer face when it contacts the firing pin. The pictures arevery helpful for a beginner or even the most experienced to ensure you don't forget something or learn whichparts are free floating/high pressure.

For those that use Grease, what to do about the one drop in certain areas? I can see grease working its way abit into some of those areas with operation, but NOT all of them, i.e. past the plunger/pin and over the springor down into the threads.

What about the bore? Obviously for cleaning and protection, when NOT in use, you want it coated with a lube(the C & P in CLP type lube). And sorry to start to stray a bit off topic, but do you really want to fire with aBONE DRY bore? YES, you definitely do NOT want a thick, or even a thin coat, of anything in the bore whetherits some lube or NOT. BUT do you want 100% dry metal, like after solvents drying out in the bore?

My point, pull patches thru the bore until it they are dry, but you can tell there is just the lightest of light coatof lube in the bore, i.e. its just a tiny bit slick. OR is that a bad practice?

Funny, i just broke down my gun completely for the first time, I am sorry to say , cleaned it and put it back

together. Then I see this and realize that I missed a few lube points that my other instructions didn't pointout. Oh well, there is tomorrow night to do it again

quick question. How do you lube the buffer spring? Q-tip and follow the coil?

I usually use one of the damp CLP patches I ran through the bore for storage.

The patch is clean, damp with CLP, and leaves just the right amount of lube. No sense in letting it go towaste. Lay the patch over one end of the coil, then spin the spring in the patch until you reach the other end.Quick, easy, takes just seconds.

ETA: A tip on CLP soaked patches.

I use a large pill bottle to store pre-soaked CLP patches in. Just drop in a stack of dry patches, pour in a smallamount of CLP and close the lid. The patches soak up the CLP evenly and there's no mess trying to apply CLPto a dry patch when cleaning. When you need a CLP soaked patch, just pick a pre-soaked one out of thecontainer and stab it on your jag.

One other question I am wondering as I am kinda new to the AR world, how exactly do you get the bufferspring out? By removing the buffer retainer? Thanks for the help!

Depress the buffer retainer, pull out the buffer and spring.

I dont care as long as its for personal use. No copying and reposting on other web sites.

Also, Ive posted material here in the past that someone decided to copy and print, then attempt to sell onGun Broker to make a little profit for themselves. If something of that nature happens again this will be thelast of my illustrations youll see here.

Why would you want to copy those illustrations, and hand them out at a tax protest?
