  • AquaFlo IIZip AquaFlo II is a range of direct and indirect stainless steel cylinders designed to provide mainspressure hot water for powerful showers and fast filling baths.

Quick recovery times and high performance insulation ensure that hot water is always availableand delivered as economically as possible.

Manufactured in the UK from high grade duplex stainless steel, Zip AquaFlo II utilises highquality controls for high flow rates and reliability.

Solar compatible options enable Zip AquaFlo II to be integrated into the latest renewabletechnology water heating systems.

Zip AquaFlo II provides:• A full range of capacities from 90 to 300 litres for both direct and indirect applications

    • Coil-in-coil heat exchangers ensure quick recovery and maximum effective capacity(up to 96% of the nominal capacity)

    • High performance insulation and fast recovery times translate into high efficiency and bigsavings in energy

    • External expansion ensuring:• More effective use of the cylinder volume• More usable space around the unit• Reduced maintenance and greater reliability with no ‘air bubble’ to lose

    • Easier installation from:• A slim profile and footprint with a diameter of 545mm• The use of standard compression fittings throughout

    • Minimal maintenance required due to:• External expansion• No sacrificial anode

    • High quality construction, materials and electrical components for longevity and completepeace of mind. Backed by a transferable 25 year on-site parts and labour warranty on thecylinder and 2 year, on-site parts and labour warranty on all other components

    • Duplex Stainless Steel cylinder with superior corrosion resistance means years andyears of service from your Zip AquaFlo after which it can be completely recycled

    3

Zip products are in daily use in tens of thousands of locations in London and across the UK.

Commercial ApplicationsFor commercial applications Zip AquaFlo units should beselected to ensure that sufficient total capacity and flow rateis available for all outlets to be served

Volume of hot water required at 60°C per outlet

Wash basins Up to 5 litres

    Sinks 10 to 15 litres

    Showers 30 litres (at 10 l/min)

    Baths 60 litres

Refer to Technical Data on page 6 to ensure that thecorrect kW loading is selected for the required heat up andrecovery performance

The above are for guidance only and the requirements ofspecific installations should be determined

Siting the UnitZip AquaFlo can be positioned more or less anywhere in thebuilding but it should be remembered that for every 1 metrethat an outlet is above the AquaFlo, the pressure will bereduced by 0.1 bar. If siting outside the heated envelope ofthe building such as in a garage or outbuilding then frostprotection should be provided and exposed pipeworkshould be insulated.

Zip AquaFlo must be supported on a flat base capableof supporting the weight of the cylinder when full. Theminimum recommended cupboard size is 650mm square.

It’s important that consideration is given to access formaintenance of the valves. The immersion heaters are375mm long and access space should be provided fortheir possible future replacement.

Water SupplyAquaFlo is capable of delivering over 50 litres per minutewhen connected to a suitable mains supply. The high qualityinlet control set with a 3 bar operating pressure has beendesigned to make the most of what is available, howeverthe performance of any unvented system is only as goodas the water supply.

In unvented systems both hot and cold services are suppliedsimultaneously from the mains so the maximum possibleon-site water demand must be assessed and the watersupply should be tested to ensure it can meet theserequirements. Consult the local water supplier if necessaryregarding the likely pressure and flow rate availability.

PlumbingFor connection to 22mm mains potable water supply

    Minimum water supply 1.5 bar, 20 l/min

Maximum water supply pressure 12 bar

ElectricalTo be wired to a suitably rated double pole fused spur

Installation must comply with current IEE regulations

Connecting Zip AquaFlo Units in ParallelMultiple Zip AquaFlo units can be connected in parallel forapplications where higher storage capacity is required.

To connect in parallel, each Zip AquaFlo should be providedwith a separate cold supply while the hot outlets areconnected to a common pipeline.

Secondary ReturnAll Zip AquaFlo units are suitable for use with secondaryreturn systems.

A dedicated secondary return connection is provided onAquaFlos with a capacity of 210 litres and above. On smallersizes the secondary return can be connected to the incomingsupply.

Always check that the kW loading available on direct units issufficient to recover the heat loss in the secondary circuit inaddition to any hot water drawn off.

InstallationInstallation must be undertaken by a competent installer inaccordance with all national and local Building Regulations.

Zip AquaFlo is intended for floor standing only – refer toTechnical Data on page 6 for weights when full.
