Queridos amigos, Es más fácil creer que Dios nos da a cada uno de nosotros, el privilegio de ayudarlo con Su trabajo en este mundo, que darnos cuenta de que lo que nos corresponde a cada quien es aquello sobre lo que tenemos algún control. Es nuestra propia parte, su parte, mi parte. Las historias del primer llamado "oficial" de Jesús a sus discípulos pueden dar la impresión de ser bási-cas y familiares, pero no necesariamente dramáticas o tan importantes. Incluso, nuestro primer encuentro con Él, puede haberse convertido ahora en algo mis-terioso para nosotros. Sin embargo, es evidente que el llamado que El dio a Sus primeros discípulos les cambió sus vidas grandemente. Percibimos que lo dejaron todo y lo siguieron. ¿Todo? Sí todo. Y, por supuesto, los discípulos ganaron mucho más de lo que dejaron atrás. “Ellos", los discípulos de Jesús, incluía y aún incluye una cantidad de personas libres. Cada uno dijo a su manera: “¡Aquí estoy, envíame!”. Este domingo po-demos recordar el primer sí que le expresamos a Jesús. Quizás lo más importante es pensar en el últi-mo sí que le dijimos. Ser discípulo de Jesús significa que vivimos nuestra exclamación a Él diciendo repe-tidamente "sí" a su llamado que sigue llegando. En estos tiempos a menudo oscuros y complicados, nuestro Salvador camina con nosotros, es más, Él camina delante de nosotros y nos llama a seguirle. Los cristianos marcan la diferencia cuando con gusto le dicen "sí" a Jesús y le siguen a donde Él les guía. ¡Que Él gane muchas nuevas victorias sobre los cora-zones y sobre la oscuridad! ¡Cuando busca a alguien para enviar en Su próxima misión entre nosotros, que encuentre muchos discípulos dispuestos y listos! Dear Friends, It is easier to believe that God gives us—as in all of us, everyone—the privilege of assisting Him with His work in this world. It is easier than noticing that the part of everyone over which we have any control is our own part, your part, my part. The stories of Jesus’ first “official” calling of His disciples can seem basic and familiar but not neces-sarily dramatic or that important. Even our own first encounter with Him may have become something vague to us by now. It is evident, though, that the call He gave to His first disciples was one that changed their lives in a big way. We notice that they left eve-rything and followed Him. Everything? Yes, every-thing. And, of course, they gained much more than they left behind. The “they” of the disciples of Jesus included and still includes a number of free individuals. Each one said in his or her way “Here I am, send me!” This Sunday we can think back on the first yes we said to Jesus. Maybe more important is to think about the last yes we said to Him. To be a disciple of Jesus means that we live our call to Him by repeatedly saying “yes” to His call which continues to come. In these often dark and complicated times, our Savior walks with us, better, He walks before us and calls us to follow. Christians make a difference when they gladly say “yes” to Jesus and follow where He leads. May He win many new victories over hearts and over darkness! When He looks for someone to send on His next mission among us may He find many willing disciples at the ready! With my prayers, Fr. Matthew Zuberbueler Pastor

It was a beautiful opportunity for all of our girls to be affirmed in the gift of their femininity, by their loving fathers/father-figures. I was honored to be there and witness this event taking place in our starlit school cafeteria, accompanied by my hero!
