Fair Hill NMRA Pleasure Drive

North AppletonParking Lot April 16

Drive off after 10; Tailgate picnic to share at the trailers around 1pm

Fair Hill is the most extraordinary resource for equestrians. Haven’t you been there? We love it! North Appleton Parking Lot has so many advantages but unfortunately lacks water for the horses and toilets for people. Trails are very well marked with a CARRIAGE TRAIL designation. Be sure to pay for parking since it funds all the trail maintenance at Fair Hill. Without those funds, there would be no FUN!

Just bring something to share and your own beverages and we’ll meet at the trailers afterwards. This is not a line drive so you don’t have to wait for anyone but if you would like to follow someone.. Be there around 10am and look for the carriage folks! Pao Lin (240) 274 6180

Black Bird Forest Pleasure Drive March 19 2016 by Sherry Harris

Members and friends, Sher-ry Harris, Mary Everett, Pao Lin Hatch, Carol Seiler, Carol Bush, former DDC member Elizabeth Buda and friend, Ann Pomeroy braved a cold Spring day to enjoy a drive in the forest together. Four carriages among us bright-ened the day for many of the parks campers and hik-ers. Sherry and halflinger, Smarty, lead a fast pace through six miles of wide trails of both wood and field. The well exercised animals ate hay while somewhat chilled but happy people enjoyed a nice spread of lunch items. Glen Everhart, and a former DDC treasurer Jackie McCann brought delicious shrimp cocktail and joined us for lunch. Later, Glen and Mary helped us close the Park interior park gates for us. A Thank You note will be sent to head ranger Jim for his help designing our route, maps and am gate opening.
