For the past four years New Hope Church has been exceptionally

blessed by the service of Sandy Moberger as our Church Administra-

tor. Sandy truly saw her work at New Hope as God’s call upon her life

and that was abundantly evident in everything she did and the way in

which she did it. Sandy’s kind, caring, compassionate, diligent, and

thoughtful leadership has been appreciated by all who have worked

with her.

Late last year Sandy let me know that she wanted to transition out of

her responsibility as Church Administrator by the end of March 2015.

That time has now approached and we will miss Sandy greatly. Sandy

has been a remarkable co-worker and also a wonderful personal friend

as she will continue to be. Sandy has assured us that she will still be

very present at New Hope and will continue to serve in myriad ways,

only as a volunteer. I hope that you will take the occasion to express

your appreciation to Sandy for her outstanding leadership during these

four years.

I’m grateful to be able to announce that our new Church Administrator

will be Phil Thompson. Phil brings a great wealth of professional

experience having served as Vice President in a number of industries.

Phil also brings experience as a Church Administrator having served in

that capacity in a large church in the Westerville area. He is also a vet-

eran of the United States Army. Phil and his wife live in Delaware, Ohio

and their children and grandchildren are all in the central Ohio area.

We look forward to Phil’s joining our staff team at New Hope in early

April. I hope that you’ll stop by and extend him a warm welcome!

Administration and Finance Sandy Moberger, Church Administrator · [email protected] · 614.766.5445 x37

My job as Church Administrator is over after four wonderful years. I felt called to this position when I began and

I sincerely feel my role has been completed. The deepened friendship with the congregation members and staff

has been a wonderful perk and one I cherish, but now it is time for me to move on. God, as always, has a plan

and I leave this position knowing we are in His hands. I look forward to being involved at New Hope Church in

as many ways as possible, but now as a volunteer. Thank you for this opportunity and the ones ahead of me as I

enjoy more time with my family. God Bless.

Adult Sunday School

VANISHING GRACE

Sundays at 9:30AM and 10:45AM

Facilitated by Mark Dutton and Rick Schuster

Why does the church stir up such negative feelings, and why are so many asking, “What’s so

good about the Good News?” Philip Yancey has been asking this all his life as a journal-

ist. In Vanishing Grace, Yancey shows the desperate need our world has for grace, and how

Christians can truly make the gospel good news again. In this Bible study, you will explore what kind of news is

good to a culture that thinks it has rejected the Christian version. Wading deep into the transformative power of

grace, you will hear illuminating stories of how faith can be expressed in ways that disarm even the most cynical.

Adults of all ages are invited to join us for Sunday School. Come when you can; there is no need to sign up, and

no homework! It’s simply a time to fellowship and grow in your faith with others.

Women’s Bible Studies

JEREMIAH: DARING TO HOPE IN AN UNSTABLE WORLD

Mondays at 7:00PM, April 6 through May 11

Facilitated by Denise Loftus and Terry Geist

Thursdays at 9:30AM, April 9 through May 14 (Nursery Care available)

Facilitated by Bonnie Fussner, Cheryl Vornbrock, and Michele Worthington

Sign up in the Narthex or online at NewHopeWorship.com/BibleStudy

In many ways we live in an unstable world where marriages fail, bank accounts run low, friendships end, and the

everyday demands of a fast-paced life get us down. In the Book of Jeremiah, we find God calling out to His

people with a message of hope – a message that intentional living is possible even in an unstable

world. Jeremiah offers women hope for living in an uncertain world by learning to navigate the challenges and

circumstances of their lives. This study inspires all women to dare to hope, remembering that God is rich in

mercy and love and has good plans for us.

TRANSFORMED WOMEN IN THE BIBLE

Wednesdays at 12:30PM, April 8 through May 13

Facilitated by Pastor Sarah

Sign up in the Narthex or online at NewHopeWorship.com/BibleStudy

In a culture where women were despised at worst and ignored at best, Jesus valued women.

Come meet some amazing women in the New Testament who spent time with Jesus. We’ll

meet women who face tragic and trying circumstances, women who made questionable deci-

sions, and women who found God faithful and true to his word. In short, we’ll meet sisters in faith who faced the

same struggles we face. As we hear their stories we will experience the transforming touch of God’s love.

March is a fun month at New Hope Preschool! On March 3 at Family Night the children enjoyed watching our

magician perform and amaze. It was a great night to spend time with family and friends!

Our Dad’s Night was also in March. The children brought their Dads and Grandpas in to enjoy music with Miss

Annie, touching and exploring reptiles with Mr. Peter Rushton, and sharing what they do in their classrooms with

them. We had so much fun!

In April we have parent teacher conferences and a fun trip to Highbanks to learn about what animals need. The

children will also explore nature on our nature walk through the park.

The month of April is a sign that our preschool year is coming to an end. The children have developed so much

spiritually and academically.

We still have a few openings this fall in our morning 3’s, afternoon 4’s and Kindergarten Enrichment Program.

Please call 614.766.2446 or check NewHopePreschool.com for more information!

Sunday School

During the month of March

most of our classes learned

about Jesus’ final week as we

prepared for Easter. The snow

and ice at the beginning of the month which yielded

to spring-like weather by the month’s end taught us

a great lesson about how seasons change. We look

forward to moving from Lent into celebrating our

resurrected Lord in April. Sunday School continues

regularly until May 17.

Club 45

On March 8, Club 45 visited the

Dublin Retirement Village,

where we made some new

friends with whom we played

board games. The 4th and 5th

graders did an amazing job in-

teracting with their elders and

learned a thing or two about playing cards with a 91

year old!

Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Egg Hunt occurred

on March 29 this year. We had

well over 200 kids, including

many guests to New Hope. We

played Easter cornhole, pin the

tail on the bunny, bunny mini-golf, created sand

crosses, upcycled Easter eggs, Palm Sunday donkeys,

bounced on an obstacle course, walked some sta-

tions of the cross, ate some good food, and of

course hunted for the 3,000 eggs hidden around

New Hope! Thanks to everyone who participated to

help make this outreach a continuing success!

Come to our Kids Musical!

You’re invited to our New Hope Kids Musical, “Here for the Gold,” Sunday,

April 12 at 4:00PM! A group of local kids write and produce a web streaming

live show to spread the message of what is really important in life, but their

show is hacked by an animated character named CG. Will they still be able to

share their message? Come to the musical and find out!

Admission is free, and all are welcome!

Welcome Team

Have you noticed the smiling faces at the Welcome

Center on Sunday mornings? Our Welcome Team,

led by Ken McNutt, is now staffing the

Welcome Center before and after each service and

will be available to answer any questions visitors or

others may have. Welcome Team members will be

identified with name tags and shirts, but in reality

everyone at New Hope is a member of the Welcome

Team. If you see a visitor or someone you haven’t

met before, introduce yourself! Offer to help them

find the answers to any questions they may have, or

direct them to the Welcome Center for more infor-

mation. You will also notice that all the sign up

sheets have been moved from the Welcome Center

to other areas of the Narthex, so please check the

bulletin board or tables for that information. If you’d

like to be an “official” member of the Welcome

Team, contact Ken McNutt.

Thank you for supporting the Elders Gift Card Outreach!

New Hope's Elders would like to thank everyone who

provided gift cards for families of cancer patients at

Nationwide Children's Hospital. Your donations to-

taled over $3200! The beautiful little fairy dolls were

lovingly made by Avery Hartranft and we know

they'll bring comfort to these children who are fight-

ing such difficult battles. Thank you all for helping to

share God's love with these families!
